  1. Cloudflare r2 is great for serverless applications,
  2. And iDrive e2 for backup,
  3. Backblaze b2 for IaaS.

  • I use iDrive e2 for everything now as the primary storage due to the better performance, and Backblaze B2 as backup/mirror for redundancy.

Nice! And how to automatically backup website files and databases with iDrive e2?

    Experience, for reference only. :)

  • How to speed up the downloading process in object storage ? I have contabo singapore and I get only 30kbps.

    Why not e2/wasabi/b2/r2?

  • B2 - for hestiacp backup
    Storj - free 150gb
R2 - for video sharing, free egress

    Contabo = Rubbish

For your use case, iDrive e2 might be a better choice.

    Storj - free 150gb

    Sounds Good!

R2 - for video sharing, free egress

    B2+CF?

  • has anyone used https://bunny.net/pricing/

bunny has stream which has free transcoding for videos, same price as R2 so how is the performance?

what if someone uses this for mastodon server? i am assuming we turn off transcoding on the server itself and let CDN handle that?

  • LOL dude you seem obsessed with all these S3 storage discussions..

what are you using now? how are they? give us some reviews please (speed, support, etc)

for my use case now i need something to backup my fam's phone and a pc (could mount it with nextcloud or just android app), so maybe i'll start with 1TB & low egress per month, any suggestions from you?

HestiaCP will support more then 40 storage options in the next release :)

    Bunny is great!
But for large files like videos, Cloudflare R2 with api costs is much more cheaper than Bunny Stream with bandwidth costs.

    All 3 of them.

    • Cloudflare r2 for serverless; B) low latency worldwide
    • iDrive e2 for backup; <3 cheap and fast
    • Backblaze b2 for IaaS. :* cheap for large files

Backup with 1TB & low egress per month?= iDrive e2

Great. this is what i wanted for a long time from hestiacp. backup features that are integrated with rclone, so we can take advantage of backup encryption from rclone.

    i dont understand,
    R2 is $0.015 / GB storage with Class A & B operations separate pricing.

Bunny is Storage from $0.01/GB CDN from $0.005/GB so same price.

bunny has automatic free transcoding which i dont think R2 has so how is R2 cheaper?

    0.015 x N ≠ 0.01 x N + 0.005 x M
