  • Is this a won VM? You got it free and now try to sell it? :open_mouth:

    I renew it.

Edit: the additional free four months are for the buyer :)

  • My guess is that instead of renew service extension GA has been applied...

@dustinc is one allowed to sell the free VM?

Even if allowed, selling a giveaway is a very shameful thing to do imo.

I think it's totally ok to sell. This is his prize, he can sell it, keep it or give away.

Thats the same opinion I have. Giveaway was for community, he won the VM, and now he wants to earn from community without any investment. There were people that really needed the services, if you don't need it, just don't take the space...

Giveaway is valid for one year, but he said that he renewed it. If that's the case it's not free service anymore. I don't see any issue here.

  • The price is down to $30. :)

You guys do not understand what @MrEd means. He just doubts that someone is trying to sell their giveaway. Maybe have a free vps and free account credits from a giveaway program. Now renew the vps then sell it here. Is it a good way to earn money?

Regardless, people who need it will still benefit from it.

    I sold a 9999 that I won in a raffle.
I specifically confirmed with the provider that I'm allowed to transfer that service.
I don't feel wrong doing that, because the recipient won't otherwise be able to buy it.

Now, if one is reselling services that can be obtained for free by almost anyone, such as microLXC or Route48, that would be wrong.

This kind of raffles are rarely done without some kind of a profit in mind. Me and Uncle, for example, made some "serious" jokes here and we both "profited" from the fun.
Other people want to drive traffic, word of mouth, make their services known. Nothing wrong with that, what happens after the raffle, unless specifically mentioned in the ToS, is nobody else's business. In fact, this thread alone is extra advertizing.
