What would you look for from Hosting

So as the title says, if you was to purchase a hosting account what would you be looking for in terms of hardware, software, support?

  • Depends on what type of hosting - VPS, webhost, email, dedi, ...

The same thread is running in WebHostingTalk. Same handle. Same unqualified question.

This is about as useful as "What would you look for from Housing" (Not a typo.)

Any answers here will be meaningless.

A quality service at a fair price.

  • I always check for location first, then basic specs (storage, ram, cpu type etc.)

    Hi,

I think all aspects need to be considered.

Price, Performance, Quality and Support. The companies that get this right are the ones who are suceeding in this market.

Location first. Then specs/price. But main factor to actually keep host long term (I prefer to not move for years) is stability/uptime (so performance, I guess).
The best hosts are those where's not needed to open support ticket for years.
