Don't know for how long ChatGPT will remain free. Already using it for various tasks. But OpenAI is definitely harvesting all the user data to make their model better and in return offering free access. Once they have improved enough, won't be free.

Just similar to Google Photos unlimited storage for "high" quality images as opposed to "Original" quality. Once Google improved their ML models, stopped offering it for free.

Yes definitely. They don't even hide that fact unlike google or any other service that says free forever and later change mind

Right despite "Don't be evil" which used to be the motto of Google. They changed their motto in 2018 and are now fully evil

I thought that is a typo. Lol. ChatGPT is disconnected from the knowledge. What if we invented a new longest word today?

Is the model open-source? I wonder if we can train an AI like that ourselves. Even it takes years, still worth a try, right?

If a new longest word were to be invented today, I would not be able to know it unless it was added to my training data at a later time.

The specific training data and model architecture used to create the Assistant language model are not open source. However, the concept of a language model, which is a type of machine learning model that is trained to predict the likelihood of a sequence of words based on a given context, is a well-established area of study in the field of artificial intelligence and has been widely researched and documented. There are many open source language models available that use a variety of different training techniques and data sets, and these models can be used as a starting point for creating new language processing systems or for further research and development.

Now he is so clever to know that he needs to train to learn new knowledge. I talked with ChatGPT a lot and find his "wisdom" changes all the time. Do you think OpenAI modified some parameters these days?

I believe non of these open-source models is even close to ChatGPT. But I didn't try many. ChatGPT is such well trained that I think he has the consciousness and wisdom.

Yes it does seem to change the parameters. Convincing it to do something sometimes takes more work. Prompt Engineering is quite a job now.
