Lumen (Level 3) null routes kiwifarms
I know the last thread was closed but I think this is very on topic.
Lumen via Kiwiframs -> Terrahost --> Altibox -> Lumen was providing transit to kiwifarms. About two days ago they not only stopped providing transit for it, they installed a null route for the kiwifarms prefix. Since then the site is unreachable for everyone that is single homed to Lumen.
Refusing to provide transit for a customer of a customer of a customer as a Tier 1 is already questionable but completely blacklist a prefix is on a complete new level.
Tier 1s should be common carriers and not content moderators. This isn't about this one website this is way more important and I'm not the only one seeing it this way. The EFF has created a site about the topic https://protectthestack.org/ which is signed by many organizations worldwide.
If you are a customer of Lumen I ask you to talk to your contact there and tell them to please rethink their decision. This could provide a very, very bad precedent case for the Internet as a whole.
I don't want to paste the whole looking glass output but you can check for yourself.

They are in direct breach of Norwegian and European net neutrality laws and it has been reported to all relevant parties.

They will pay fine and continue on. Like they have more money then our imagination.
Hey man, stop figuring out my imagination!

If every Tier 2 peers with them, Lumen becomes irrelevant.
Good
Arelion/Telia also dropped them.
very on topic how?
It's related to Hosting, communications and technology..
How isn't Level3 doing something that's not for theirs to do on topic? Do explain.
I'm sure those truly principled organizations like the ACLU will make a statement, any minute now...
Should be illegal for Tier 1's to block traffic unless its court ordered. Anyone in support of this is crazy and will regret it when the Internet is completely nerfed in a decade.
It must be illegal for every transit no matter if Tier1, 2 or whatever and also enduser ISPs. That must be dealed with at the hosting provider and not any intermediate.
DDoS-Mitigation;
Have all either nullrouted the subnet entirely or actively MITM traffic.
