  • its not Black Friday yet.

  • How does the object storage discount work? Do I need to sign in to see discounted price?

  • 11/11 is not Black Friday, It's only on 11/25, what’s the meaning of "Black Friday Deals End Soon"?

So were the price increases meant to cover the Black Friday sales or can we expect that these are not recurring promos?

There’s something tone deaf about increasing all customer’s prices by 9% and then discounting new sales by 50%. But I’m sure I’ll have many more companies to say that to before the month ends.

  • This is a CAP

  • @jar said: There’s something tone deaf about increasing all customer’s prices by 9% and then discounting new sales by 50%.

It's only 50% off location fees (which works out to around 0-16% off for the dedicated servers).

Excellent. I’ll take 9% off of my services now for Black Friday.

    1. Why call something what it isn't? It's not BF.
    2. Religion should not be mixed with business.
    3. Offering miniscule (to absurd levels) discounts became really popular this year. Posts like these may increase one's visibility, but decrease credibility (if there's space for that), IMO.

Sir I already claimed the controversial take in this thread.

  • Not BF. Should be called pre BF. :|

  • Where was religion mentioned?

"Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain".

  • Oooooh. Somehow I totally skipped over the title of the thread. I feel so thick now, I literally re-read the post except the title about 5 times looking for the reference!

  • So... no deals, then.

  • So did God do Contabo a solid by moving up an American consumer holiday? Was that a priority request ticket?

I mean, they only discounted dedicated servers and object storage, not VPS

  • So basically no deals ?

I saw the title and opened the thread knowing someone will play THAT card. You didn't disappoint.

Your stairway to heaven has been doubled.

  • Naturally, people from different countries/cultures have different sensitivities, but I would simply point out that "Thank God It's Friday" -- or "TGIF" -- is a common phrase in the English-speaking world, and the intention behind this phrase is very much not to take God's name in vain. (See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thank_God_It's_Friday )

The main problem with the title of this thread is that in fact, it's very much not (yet) Black Friday

  • IT'S NOT BF !!! and based on your discounts! it will never be BF

  • Black friday, Black week, Black month.
