netcup Halloween 2022 offers

netcup usual offer Tuesday has started.

Flagship killer RS 1000 G9.5 SE HW22

More offers: https://www.netcup-sonderangebote.de/

The change since the earlier offers that you must pay all of 12 months in one payment after the order. I think that it's reason is the increasing energy prices. I suggest that buy if you interested in because they will increase their price by 9--10% but the already payd services will not affected. Price increase info from their website.b

Also note this additional sentence which newly appeared this time in their offers:

"Der Preis bleibt für die gesamte Dauer der ersten Abrechnungsperiode gleich."

English: "The price stays the same for the duration of the first contract interval."

In other words: These offers are not recurring anymore.

    Non-recurring, feels unattractive now.

yet there is no other base price yet. so nothing where it will automatically increase to or the likes.

the whole phrase more likely is because they are going to raise all old products by ~10% soon and haven't adjusted the base pricing yet (shall happen end of october/beginning of november).

so buying now will lock in the old pricing for a year and probably is best you can get right now. expect the BF offers to be more pricey instead.

Yes, they will increase their prices, so it is true for old contracts. I just paid my RS Ostern S 22. It seems that after spring, when my contract expires my price increases from 9,5 Eur to 11.> @Falzo said:

+1. I bought my RS at easter and I payd 9.50*6 at spring and a few days ago with 27% VAT. The recurring is an interesting word, because ARUBA Cloud increased the 1 Eur VPS prices after an year, and now, almost every ISP increasing their prices. I think that netcup Root Server is a very strong offer with their prices.
And if the price increase happens, a doubled RS1000 wil expensiver with 1 Eur for a month if VAT 19%. So if someone thinking to buy an RS1000 I think that this time is very good for that.

Is there someone who bought an RS in this offer? YABS?:)

  • I wish they wouldn't keep the expired offers on the page. If they are sold out, they shouldn't hang around for too long.

Very interesting, that in some yabs tests the IOPS limited to double bandwidth than others. Avesome results, but the network performance is not the best in the past few days.

Since last few days my root server (RS 1000 G9.5, Nuremberg) has become unusable because of pathetic network. Netcup support isn't ready to acknowledge that there is issue in their network despite showing them YABS report.

I wrote to the support and I try to confirm the problem with SpeedTest results,, different IPs because the test results depends on the location. It seems that one of their hops overloaded because the connection to Hetzner usualy better than DT for example. I hoppe that not only 2 people reports the problem. If they can't give a solution in the next day I'll try to ask a migration to ANX86 or to another ANX that is not the current DC.

Support disappeared in the past 2 days. I sent to them the problem with detailed results but no reply. I'm very disappointed because the problem still exists two weeks ago and it seems that they don't want to admit that. I paid the next 6 months and I was very satisfied with their service but it is very strong disapointment... I hoppe that it will be fixed soon, I try to give them the most of description.

It has been like this since I opened the ticket 3 weeks ago. They reply after every 4-5 days only to say that there is no issue in their network.

Did you try to ask to move to another ANX? I'll try it if they can't fix the problem.

  • another ANX probably means moving from germany to austria. but the problem seems to be related to a certain group of servers in ANX84/nuremberg only. because I do have multiple services there and only one shows the somewhat degraded network speeds.

They never asked me for so much info but I had a not so nice experience with them regarding domains.

I decided to transfer a domain registered for several years and I had the surprise to see them want to bill me each year - even the already paid ones at the previous registrar - without adding any time at the registry until it's really needed (or the domain will stop renewing). Really bad practice! To my knowledge they are the only ones doing that.

I ended up moving it to another registrar to not keep paying each year for a domain already paid for for several years!

I think they are OK if you want to register a new domain or move a domain that's soon going to be expired, otherwise better stay with real registrars, even if they have a promo with good pricing.

VPSes are really good in my experience, though.

When you check at afternoon or evening the speed can be constant 20--50 Mbps. Currently iperf3 shows acceptable numbers, but if I use rsync, SCP the speed jumping between 300 KB/s and 30 MB/s and the average nearer to the lowest value. So the test numbers not bad but the real usage is very unconfortable.

Yes, the actual price is 12.5 euro, they write like 1 euro per month.

I initially thought they sell for 1 euro per year

But anyway, they want me to pay 12 euro upfront, what is the point of "Price / Month 1.23 €"

  • @adns said: Did you try to ask to move to another ANX?

I asked them to shift my server to another DC. Yet to get a reply.

  • @tsoft said: what is the point of "Price / Month 1.23 €

marketing would say: more easy comparison. german habits might seem unusual, but you either have to get used to it or better find another provider. this one most likely isn't a good fit for you.

  • @Luke007 the network problem fixed.
After a few mtr, speedtest, iperf results they confirmed that the problem exists. After that they asked iperf3 test results at the night, that showed 10--12 Mbps download speeds. I sent that and since yesterday the speed have been excellent. Currently no packet loss with high speeds.
