Did anyone try Serverdiscounter? I somehow remember the name, but can't put my finger on it where from.

Just found out about this offer through an Instagram ad. Given that it's KVM and an IPv4 address is included, 23,40€/year (incl VAT, 19,xx€/y excl VAT) doesn't seem too bad.

1 vCore (Intel Xeon CPU; 3,6 GHz)
1GB RAM
10GB SSD
100 Mbits
1 IPv4
1 IPv6 @yoursunny would demand more push-ups

Edit: Seems like 24h trial is available if anyone wants to YABS:

    Thanks for sharing.
Also their location Frankfurt makes this offer quite attractive, though I couldn't find any information about the actual datacenter.

It's just a rather confusing brand name, to not mix up serv(er)discount(er), where the one without the 'er's belongs to myLoc. :)

Yeah, I also thought the location and IPv4 was interestingly. I guess getting the 24h test server would reveal more info such as ASN.

I, too, was confused, because I remembered myloc's Servdiscount (originally for dedicated servers). Any guess what DC they might be using?

    Edit: found this @dfroe https://serverdiscounter.com/datacenter-germany/

  • Perhaps an opportunity to LowEndPioneer?

Website doesn't seem to be that much active, the top right language selector is broken and in footer there is empty widget called "Footer Widget 4". If they are in business since "© Copyright - 2005 - 2021" then I guess they don't care about their website.

They definitely seem to not frequently update their website. Then again many LE hosts only update order pages and often neglect their websites, too.

Well, apparently serverdiscounter does not colocate with servdiscount. ;)

However, while reading their website; Interwerk, Ghoastnet(sic!) and AS205388 basically pushing all traffic via ActiveServers.. this sounds like some good old LowEnd connections. :)

  • Debian 12?
    It isn't even released yet.

Thanks for the headsup :) Guess I might skip this one. Still nice pricing.

Some of the pictures for DC1 look like Interwerk to me.

    That could be. Thanks, mate!
I just might give their 24h a trial some time :)

  • Hm, doesn't seem too well then :S

  • 24h trail server uses ASN 205388.

Thanks for sharing the benchmark. For SSD, disk doesn't seem to be the fastest eh? Still, for that price and IPv4 included probably not that bad an offer (depending on use case).
