About us

After a long time away from this website, VPSCheap is back! We've been in the market since 2010, focusing entirely on providing the cheapest possible unmanaged VPS hosting, without sacrificing quality. We don't provide any other products, which has let us leverage economies of scale and develop a very specialised infrastructure over the past decade.

As of last year, all our customers are hosted on a next-gen pure SSD KVM platform that sits on top of ZFS, and enterprise-grade hardware co-located in Buffalo, New York. We provide modern versions of Debian, Ubuntu, and various CentOS derivatives. We're so confident in our services that we offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

I was VPSCheap customer in 2015~2017.

    Invoice #51307
    Amount Due: $10.00 USD
    Due Date: 11/22/2015

    Invoice Items

    LET Special 256MB ram 3GB SSD Disk space Unmetered Network - vps3 (11/22/2015 - 11/21/2016) $10.00 USD
    Operating System: Ubuntu 14.04 X86 64
    Extra IP Address: none

At first, the machine was stable.
In one project, I need PPP and SIT kernel modules enabled, and technical support helped with those requests in 2 hours.

However, later into the contract, the machine would turn off automatically.
Technical support sent me some logs about "TCP SYN flooding" that caused the shutdown, but couldn't answer a basic question of whether the alleged flooding was outgoing or incoming or what's its remote address.

    May 11 10:02:10 node37 kernel: [777902.877205] CT: 10504: started
May 11 10:33:00 node37 kernel: [779750.646267] possible SYN flooding on ctid 10504, port 1723. Sending cookies.
    May 11 10:33:58 node37 kernel: [779808.553723] CT: 10504: stopped

I did not renew the contract after this.

Thankfully, quite a lot has changed since 2015-2017. Since then, the company has come under new management, and we've rearchitected our entire platform from the ground up, with new hardware and software alike. Effectively everything has changed drastically - hopefully for the better - since then.

I'd be thrilled if you'd give us another shot, DM me if there's anything in particular I can do to make that happen?

I was also a VPSCheap customer a decade ago, back then they were one of the cheapest unmetered hosts available.

Years after, I was no longer their customer, I discovered by chance that they were doxing me via their public rwhois server. All my personal info at the time was being published by the company. I contacted them, they did not reply but apparently "fixed" it, only for the same to repeat again a year later, again with zero communication nor an apology from them.

Just one year ago, "under new management" I assume, I still got newsletter spam from them.

So yeah, not the best experience I've had in the industry.

@Nyr I'm not familiar with your case or what happened there, but if you email [email protected] from the email address we have on file, we could anonymize/delete the account for you? If nothing else, I could opt your account out of marketing emails - it's a simple on/off toggle in our billing system.

because anything the word cheap is a magnet to you.

Recession hit push-up economy real hard.
