  • He's old. Sometimes he forget things... Forgive him! ;)

But I agree with Arkas about being superb host. It actually bothers me in some way, because this terrible urge to purchase another vps on the other location too although as a central european I know that LA isn't most suitable for my usage and I am trying to stick with NJ.

I am? Maybe, I have to think about it.

I always choose my VPS on where it's target audience of what I am doing is, not on where I am located.
I agree, everytime I see this thread I want to buy 1 more!

Yes, that's true, but most of my target audience is from area around me and sometimes I am my own (psyBNC, squid proxy, vpn, nextcloud...) target audience.
What I am trying to say is that I don't really need VPS from relatively distant LA, but the one from NJ I like so much that I am thinking about getting another one on the other location just for the sake of it.

  • @Mumbly Does anyone really still use the old psyBNC and not use znc ?

Yes, I do :) It's not just Arkas old here :(

'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'

It's not like ancient IRCd of a network I mostly idle changed that much in the last two decades either.

  • I've been using ethernet for a while. It's good!

  • Any chance of a central US location? Chicago would be perfect!

Something I learnt yesterday, thanks to a customer who let me know, is that WireGuard actually does work on our platform when BoringTun is used, which I've tested and see that Nyr's script installs perfectly: https://github.com/Nyr/wireguard-install

Just thought I would post this here as many comments on our threads have asked about WireGuard, and I've always given a firm "no" that it wasn't supported.

yes, you are correct, but they are migrating to openVZ9 sometime after the new year. Then it will be a 5.x kernel.

Right now that requires a ticket, but I'm actively working on a solution which will enable users to set their own IPv6 rDNS entries via SolusVM. I'm no expert when it comes to PowerDNS and am struggling a bit due to some complexities we have with the current way things are set up, but I'm hopeful to have a solution in the coming few days.
