Ryzen 7700X vs Core i7-13700K

ShakibShakib Member, Patron Provider

So my initial plan was to get new DDR5 systems in 2024.
If I get new systems in 2023, should I go with Ryzen 7700X or Core i7-13700K?

Share your thoughts in details keeping power consumption and price to performance ratios in mind. :)

  • i7-13700K isn't even out yet, nobody has thoughts on power consumption.
7700X is way less power efficient than 5950X, idk why would you ever consider that chip for server use as its pure gaming cpu whereas 5950X is workstation cpu.

Btw 2024? You'll have Ryzen 8000 and Intel 14-15th gen then.

@AXYZE We will never end up using those multi-thread anyway.

As always, my primary focus is single-threaded performance.

    Talking about 2023.

Focusing only on single-threading, the I-series intel cpu will be more appropriate.

    We are fine so far.

Sure. I will prioritize ECC next time.
