Is there any FREE alternative to CPanel that can restore a backup?

  • You have to select the migrate virtual server option.

  • OK Found it. Now another question. How do I make the backup work on the VPS domain. ie So the restored website is at www.domain.com vs www.domain.com/restoreddirectory (Instructions for CPanel and Virtualmin would be great!)

    Thank so much everyone :D

That's a good point, Virtualmin uses name.domain whereas I believe cPanel uses [email protected]

To quote myself, I have actually just seen an option in Virtualmin relating to this.

Virtualmin > System Settings > Server Templates > Mail for domain.

Right at the bottom it lets you change the format for mail usernames.

If you were to set this up first before you restored a cPanel backup, you could effectively cause no inconvenience to any existing users.
