Netim:

Dear customer,

Like every year, the start of the new school year heralds an increase in the rates charged by the registries.

Add to this the parity between USD and EUR, which also forces us to revise some extensions upwards (as well as all of our industry players).

The prices indicated below correspond to public prices and do not take into account any specific tariffs linked to the volume of your portfolio.

We strongly advise you to renew concerned domain names before these price increases, directly from Netim Direct: https://www.netim.com/direct/account/services-list/

Yea, you'll see $5.8 price increase by the registrars for 58 cents increase by the registry.

    Regarding pricing:

Right now sav.com seems the best option for most of my domains. Transfer & renewal. Moved several .coms and .nets from name.com there today.

I tryed also cosmotown, but oh boy... this extra slow & buggy control panel where support needed to add transfered domain manually to my account after two days when they finally responded...

The Support is bad, Virmach/Hosthatch level support.

    Ouch! I hope I won't need it.
As long control panel work as it should I may no need to use support ever.
    But good to know, thanks!

Are registrars explicitly tying these increases to the energy market? That doesn't seem to be the case from the examples cited or from what I've seen elsewhere.

Fundamentally many registries have been increasing wholesale prices the past few years. For example, the .COM wholesale price is going up by 7% for the second year in a row, and will likely do so again the next two years, and this is happening independent of the current energy market situation.

  • anyway, is netim recommended?

    Renew before September 1st!!

  • why?

  • ArkasArkas Member, Moderator

    To avoid the price increase.

  • seems that there are no increases for .se and .nu

Google Domains Turkey still remains the best registrar price-wise. There is no difference between normal Google Domains (they are aware your address is not in turkey and still accept it) - 75tl (4 eur) for most TLDs such as .dev, .net, .org, .info

.com price was recently bumped up to 200tl (10 euro) but I already renewed all my .com domains for 3 years at 75tl/year

How do you access it, by VPN? It works even If you have a U.S. address?

You access it like any other website, not even a VPN needed. Any address works

On my main account (may be because the account is old) everything is in English with Turkey pricing :)

You can probably set it here too: https://domains.google.com/registrar/account
