Do we know the IP address price rise will affect normal customers (not resellers)?
On one hand it might be a natural assumption, but on the other there is no messaging, no google results, and fresh advertisements of free IPs like this being posted
These are other advantages of OVH and their great customer service - to leave customers till last moment in confusion and ambiguity
I also till now haven't received some email notifying me that additional IPv4 will be paid - very good let customers waiting, confused and knowing nothing (not every one reads mr. Klaba's twitter, i too do not)
But.... in other thread "OVH resellers apocalypse" it was discussed that this great new will affect ALL ADDITIONAL IPV4s

Hi abd, yes it is still valid as of the time of the offer.. We hear you regarding the tweet and what we can tell you so far is that, it hasn't been formally confirmed yet and should there any changes, we will officially communicate about it.
Does this "officially communicate" mean an email on Aug 31 telling everyone we will have to start paying for IP? If so then saying "no monthly recurring fee" now is literally a false claim.

The VPS value deal is $4.31 per month with commitment, while the 2GB of proposed RAM sounds nice on the paper, I fail to see where the actual “value” is…
Still a single (laggy) 1vCore, a measly 40GB of storage (imagine 40GB in 2022) along with very limited traffic if hosted in Singapore.
That’s a hard pass for me. This is worth $2.99 at best, not $4.31. Wake wakey, we aren’t in 2017 no more.

The VPS deal doesn't seem to work on OVH US. Is this expected? Was hoping to snag one in Oregon.
I saw messages about IP address price changes. Does this also apply to SYS servers? The site states that max 16 ip addresses are included with the server without monthly costs.
The IP cost will affect SYS additional IPs.

Their competitors offer 1vcpu,1gb ram, 20gb ssd, 1tb bandwidth at $5. They offer 2x more ram and 2x more storage for less. This is really good value, unless you compare them to some random LET company that can deadpool tomorrow, have week of downtime or change whole ip range. Thats not fair.
Compare them do DO/Linode. They dont even have real DDoS protection compared to really good from OVH! Included in price.
