GreenBench Benchmark Script - Share the results - Report bugs - Request new features
GreenBench's Official Website: https://bench.green.cloud/
What is GreenBench?
GreenBench is a benchmark script to test the server's performance, included:
- Fetching basic information about the server (CPU, RAM, Disk, and Swap).
- Disk I/O performance test using fio.
- iperf3 Network Speed Tests (IPv4 & IPv6)
- Global connection speed test.
- Geekbench CPU Test.
This script is inspired from other scripts (YABS, Tocdo.io, bench.sh) but with more features such as URL Sharing, options to choose iperf or speedtest-cli,...
Usage:
Script 1: Network Test using iperf (IPv4/IPv6):
bash <(wget -qO- https://green.cloud/install)
Script 2: Network Test using Speedtest-cli with more test servers (IPv4 only):
bash <(wget -qO- https://green.cloud/install1)
More options can be found on our official site: https://bench.green.cloud/
Supported OS:
- CentOS 7+
- Debian
- Ubuntu
An example of a GreenBench's test: https://bench.green.cloud/4a749ac97404cf71bc00eec54be2825410308
All test results will be recorded at https://bench.green.cloud/lists.php except the private tests so users can compare between providers.
In progess:
- Ability to filter the tests based on the Organization (ASN)/RAM/CPU/...
- Search function
Please share your test results/feedbacks on this thread or report bugs/request new features. I will tag our dev so he can give support directly here.

@foitin Could you please share your feedbacks here, especially the bugs that you have discovered? Our dev will take a look at that. Thanks!
That's nice

We will have that fixed soon.
The "Contact Us" link leads to a page where you need to be logged in or registered user in order to send a message.
I got the output but paste link shows 404,

Why’s this a compiled binary though?
Same "issue" here. Would make more sense to give the project it's own email or something, unless you like to mix tickets.

I tried to do speed test to APAC servers earlier and this didn't work.
bash <(wget -qO- https://green.cloud/install) -fga
Then I realized it was doing fio test just with no stdout.
It is working now. Thanks for the fix.
BTW. If the benchmarking script gets interrupted, the fio test file will not be deleted automatically. (before, not sure about now)

for some reason, which obviously failed since it doesn't have access to systemd's environmentplease add compare feature, like My Idlers
It seems that our dev forgot to add bench.monster to the credit list, added now. Thanks!
Is this written in C ? That's great, it should be compatible in almost all *nix.
We just updated your reqeust. You can check again
We just tested and it can work fine with Centos, Ubuntu, Debian, almalinux
Something will have the error permission and fail to upload logs because of the library repo on the vps/server client. We will try to update for fixing it soon
Is that script written from scratch.
Script is possible wrapper around other script implementations which is converted to binary and branded as proprietary.
Does your script complies to open source licenses from other similar implementations.
For opensource tools used in the script better to provide credit details in disclaimer.
Footer link to greencloudvps.com is not clickable.
You can fix this by removing below css pseudo classes.
`
footer .footer-bottom:before {
content: "";
position: absolute;
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
background: url(../images/section-bg-bottom.png) center bottom no-repeat;
top: 0;
left: 0;
}
`
and also put some live/clickable links on those credits
Scripts runs properly only when run as
root
. I'll wait for further polishing and updates.We will put that to the Credit section soon. I have just talked to our dev, in order to upload the test results to the website we needed to encrypt the code with FTP credentials. Our dev will go through the reported bugs and fix them one by one.
Hi,
He should probably fork that and change the url to your domain. This can help you avoid problems in the future if the bench.master falls
https://github.com/laset-com/speedtest-cli/blob/8f6248a726ded60a1655ba6ea4ba7202a4c6a160/speedtest.py#L1254
Also, your bench leaves some trash in the root directory behind
That's gonna be harsh take from me.
This tool has 1:1 output style as 'YABS', its clearly starting point for your project.
@Liso did the same with his Benchy
That's okay. Whats not okay is forking open source project (yabs), making new improvements (which were already done by @Liso - both Speedtest & URL sharing), then slapping your commercial logo and close sourcing it by providing just a binary file.
I honestly hate when companies just use open source work without contributing anything. In this case its not just "using open source". It even has 1:1 output style as 'yabs'.
Its not 'inspired'. Fake iPhone is also "inspired by Apple"?
If Mason & Liso are okay with this then ok, I cant really compain.
But if you didn't even asked both of them then... some bad words.
No matter if you asked them I don't support it. Why?
I'm completely against it. Sorry.
Edit: @Abd did GreenCloud asked you to use your server and bandwidth for their tool?
You need a new dev, this is bad practice.
