LetBox - Poor speeds lately

Has anyone else been experiencing exceptionally poor speeds (10 Mbps or less) at LetBox's LA location lately?

Started at about 100mbit and dropped down to about 30mbit in my test.
my LA servers are slower than the ones in NJ
Thanks for reporting. Any others willing to test the LA Looking Glass?
Yup, copy file from server drop 1.4M/s -> 1xxkb/s happened more lately. Not sure what happened there
@key900 @SmartHost Any input regarding this issue?
Would you mind to provide the ticket ID?
It should be a overall issue, I am not a customer, i tested using the looking glass, it's indeed quite slow. 10 Mbps only.
I can also replicate what others report from the speedtest. It starts out rather good, then plummets to around 10-15 Mbit/sec for me.
You don't need a ticket to see there's an issue here.
There is no site-wide issue here in our Los Angeles location.
Please submit a ticket if you are having a speed issue on your service, and we will gladly assist you and take a look.

I suppose that depends on how you define 'site-wide'. I can get 100M+ from a MrVM instance which I'm guessing is in the same DC but anything outside is horrible.
FWIW, https://lg.lax.psychz.net/200MB.test is just as crap. I get better performance from Couer d'Alene --> Moscow than I do to Los Angeles.
EDIT: Apologies, I am dumb and for some reason I always think LA is near the top of California. I probably made the same mistake yesterday when I poked at it.
I am not trying to be snarky or rude, but every comment in this thread would seem to suggest otherwise.
I opened a ticket (#038508) a couple of weeks ago and was told there was no problem. I was hoping the issue was transient and would resolve itself, but it has unfortunately persisted.
Please understand—I think you all provide a great service! This thread was only intended to exclude the possibility of a local routing issue or any "user-error."
Seems like that network isn't doing so great
guys you're all clearly mistaken, just stop.
In general I quite like Letbox, but the professionalism of the ticket handling leaves a lot to be desired.
Fortunately I haven't needed much support, but when I did bring up an issue, it was immediately shot down with "not our problem." That's what's happening here as well.
I haven't needed a lot of tickets but they've always been fine for me and very responsive.
Ditto for me. Always the same canned response from @key900 @SmartHost that all looks good and there is nothing wrong their systems/ eyes can see. Tickets are answered by Shawn (the Managing Director) for the most part.
Inspite of showing Yabs MTR and the other speed tests it's always shotdown
Nope this normal guys come on you can provide them with Speed tests and show them all day the shit sucks this is the new norm!
and why would you pay for service like that?
Am having around 500mbps down and 850mbps up. In LA, letbox
I agree with this. On the minute it is good, it'll be a really fucking awesome minute.
Testing right now from Letbox's NJ location (and several other east coast servers), the speeds from LA are settling around 5Mbit/sec.
I get rather annoyed when a problem is reported to a provider with some level of detail, they check one metric, and then report back that all is okay without really looking deeply into the issue. I don't mean to be piling on to Letbox -- I've seen it with others as well.
Personally the network was not great but it was usable for my purposes, but my “local” storage VPS in LA had severe iowait issues when trying to serve files from it. Switched it to my BF2020 VPS from @TNAHosting and even though the disk is glacial in benchmarks, there is 0 iowait
Perhaps because the disk is network attached or something? No clue
wget http://lg.la.letbox.com/100.mb
seems no such issue from QuadraNet LA
That's what she said.
I think Psychz is having issues at the moment. I was seeing slow speeds and 110+ ms ping times from a HostHatch server at Psychz Networks to a Hostodo server in Las Vegas at Fiberhub. That route should have ~15ms ping.
I created tickets with both providers and Hostodo forwarded my ticket to the network admin to investigate.
The ping is better now, but the network is still very unreliable. Sometimes I get the full gigabit speed on downloads, other times I get ~20Mbps.
"your ping's real high and your network's pitch black"
On a related issue, I think Psychz is the reason behind most problems I've had at HostHatch's Chicago location. I can't begin to count the hours of troubleshooting I've done to track down what ended up being some Psychz network strangeness (random packet dropping).
It sounds like HostHatch is making moves to remedy that situation. Maybe Letbox will too!
30kb/s here
Just checked the speed on a server within the Psychz network in LA (not a Letbox VPS, but a dedicated server by another provider) and while those numbers don't look great, that are pretty normal, at least in regard to ping (throughput could be better though for some locations, but California/South West is ok).
