Few Questions about Route53 (AWS)

tmepytmepy Member

Hey guys, wanted to know the pricing model of AWS route 53 in detail as I did not understand the "zones" pricing and the different regions available. Sorry if this is a noob question, its because I use cloudflare for DNS currently and am looking to switch over to AWS for dns as I am thinking of registering a domain there. I just want to know the monthly price if I had ~80 records. Thanks a lot.

I found it a bit hard to understand the pricing for AWS services, but to get some information you can use https://calculator.aws/#/createCalculator/Route53

    I have a similar setup :
    1 domain (hosted zone)
    40-50 records
    ~ 1.2 million query

    it cost ~1-2/month

Is AWS good? or should I stick with cloudflare

TBH AWS Route53 is a pretty good alternative to Cloudflare IMO. Propagation is fast enough, and the UI is reasonable. Pricing is also pretty reasonable, and if you want to use Cloudfront on APEX domain, this is your only option.
