How do you refer to your VPS?

I guess VPS in the most common, but there are many who call them VMs, VDS and sometimes just KVMs because its using KVM obviously...etc...
Just wondering as I am building a VPS host with a dedi for a friend.

I don't mean the name of the VPS but how do you refer to it when writing and speaking. Do you call it a VM for example?

VPS/VDS/Dedi depending on type of server, which implies they're with a provider. (VDS = dedicated threads/cores).

I only use "VM" for when I refer to a local VM, e.g. a development/testing VM I have on my main desktop computer.

‘Virtual Machine’ at work, ‘server’ at home, because that’s the language people understand.

In my country most people call them "VPS". No matter it's KVM, OpenVZ, VDS or just NAT.

For me the perception of a "VPS" has been tainted by all of the bad hosts out there, so I affectionately refer to them as VMs or just servers.
