Frequently Asked Questions

What payment methods do you support?
You can pay via Credit Card (Mastercard, VISA, American Express, UnionPay), AliPay, BanContact, EPS, giropay, iDeal, P24 and Paypal.

How long until my virtual server is ready to use?
Provisioning of new virtual servers is fully automated and takes about 5 minutes. As soon as your payment is received, the setup process is launched automatically for the operating system you selected during checkout. (Provided that our system didn't flag you for manual review.)

What kinds of usages are accepted?
In short: keep it legit and do not abuse the provided resources. No email spam, no file sharing, no Tor nodes, no Torrent and nothing that will max out the shared resources 24/7 (= no crypto currency miners, please). For a more detailed list, see the “Accepted Usage Policy” section of our Terms of Service.

What operating systems are supported?
You can either pick from the latest AlmaLinux, CentOS, Debian, OpenSuse or Ubuntu releases pre-installed on your virtual server; or you can upload any ISO and install whatever operating system you would like to use instead.

What level of support is provided?
These are unmanaged virtual server offers, so you are expected to install and configure the server yourself. You get root access to the virtual server and a Linux distribution pre-installed, but you will have to setup any software according to your requirements.

Can I have a benchmark?
Yes, of course; this is LET after all. :)

Here is a YABS of the Virtual Server S:

    Any monthly deals with 16GB RAM/ 4 or 6 vCPUS and 160-200GB SSD/NVMe ?

  • I have been using a hosting service from strato. do they use your infra?

Not this time, sorry. Focus was on smaller plans when planning these offers. But let‘s see, maybe next time.

I assume the Storage Server 1T is annually? That'd be a bit steep for quarterly

Question: Is possible internal (unmetered 1G+) network between compute and storage instances? (yes, mentioned purpose is NFS)

Also good question, quarterly would be a bit expensive on Raid-6...

Sorry, yes, that should have said per year. The checkout form says it right anyhow, but it is unfortunately not possible to edit the initial post anymore.

I didn't know they offer hosting in Austria. Their website only mentions Germany. And, no, I would not be aware of that.

Sorry, not at the moment. :/

A private, internal network between customer servers is quite high on the to do list as it had been requested a few times already (mostly in the context of K8s or using the Storage Server offers as network-attached storage), but still far from being implemented.

Is a smaller sized storage server possible? Half resources, i.e. 500 GB disk, 1 vCore, 1GB RAM for half the price, i.e. 27.5EUR?

  • 948 for a EPYC 7543P is a little low don't you think?

A Geekbench score of 900 to 1100 is certainly in the expected range for the 3rd generation models and Geekbenchs database seems to agree. (Or, 800 to 1000 for the 2nd generation ones.) Maybe you are looking for GB4 scores?

Bro, go rather Antarctica - safest location on the Earth

( imo - in case of world nuclear war u will look for a suitable place to dig a grave (if you will have ever some time for it) instead of a place to host )

  • What a great provider. 0 downtime on my vps since the beginning. Absolutely charming.

Why do you test on a empty node?
I have a VPS from you and here is what i got:

900 to 1100 is certainly in the expected range
    I got below 900 range :D
fio is a "little" lower ...

I wouldn't accuse him of cheating though. You'll experience this at almost every provider and it's likely to get better sooner because now everybody's got their new VPS and re-installs, yabs and what not does to it which causes general higher load.
This server might not be for high computing tasks which requires the fastest configuration but it's been an extremely stable service for me and apparently for some others here too.

There are no "empty nodes" due to the way load is always distributed evenly over all available hypervisors with matching specs.

But benchmarks are always only a snapshot in time and are sensitiv to various things. Running your own stuff in the background, using sub-optimal configurations (for example, when reinstalling with your own ISOs and lack the right drivers), running outdated Linux kernels or simply unlucky timing can already significantly alter the results.

Does this mean, it can be a Ryzen Gen3 node with Gen4 NVMe now but a Ryzen Gen2 node with Gen3 NVMe later?

I guess you mean EPYCs, but no, you are stuck on the same generation. That wouldn't even be technically feasible, as such a downgrade could cause software incompatibilities (if customers optimised their code for features that are only available on the 3rd generation, for example).

I don't say they are bad, but when you buy something and get something else ...
They posted a yabs with a gen 3 processor, but they cant guarantee you get a gen 3, they have gen 2 also and depends on how is you luck if you get a gen 3 VPS.

The Gen2 is powerful too, only small difference to Gen3 setup. It'll be more than sufficient in virtually all cases. As Michael pointed out with the Geekbench score, the avarage difference is less than 10% and all in all it's likely to be even less than this and absolutely negligible.

  • What happens after 20TB transfer traffic?

  • Is ddos protection optional?

Once the included traffic is used up, the port is throttled to 10 Mbps for the remaining month. No surcharges apply, but if necessary, additional unthrottled traffic can be ordered over the client area.

    Happy Easter everybody! 🥚🐇 🐣

Hopefully, you all had a happy (and delicious) Easter. But, if you still need some Easter treats for yourself and your next project, the above deals are still available for another 48 hours. Last chance! ;)

I don't think they have it.
