NYC is the financial center for USA, so new jersey is the nearest. Any reputable provider should have a DC in/near NYC. Just like London for UK, Tokyo for Japan, Sydney Australia etc.

I voted Dubai because I would love to offer to my customers a super-cheap disaster-recovery backup solution in case of energy stops in Europe. I guess that the place less likely to undergo a lack of electricity is Dubai.
