Are you referring to this post by VirMach? If so, I don't think this means "VirMach makes an exception for you". However, if I am wrong, someone will point it out.

And, I think "refunds" will be done as follows:

• Refunds are based on the payment your friend used.
  -- This means, if your friend paid with a store credit, refunds will go to your friend's store credit.
  -- In any case, refunds will not be made to the bank account.
• Fees for transferring a VPS to another VirMach account will not be refunded.
• If you acquired or bought a VirMach account from your friend, I do not know what will happen.
• Obviously, if no refunds are made, then nothing.

I think you misunderstood, it should mean that it can only be returned to store credit, but he can refund to add store credit payment method, maybe wait until Virmach to explain, if it is like I said, then you need to find your friend to get the money back.

As it was stated many times: Not now, maybe in future. Japan is packed. When new servers arrive (customs atm + weekend?) and things settle down migration to Japan should (could) be back.

Pretty sure VirMach is not stupid to make an "refund" to some other account and then get a chargeback from "original friend owner" because server was refunded.

You can always buy a dedi and purchase 1G unmetered, should fit that requirement.

Unlimited @ 1Gbps, we can add a second port to the server for you. $80 setup fee for DC hands to do that, plus $10/MO for the port, and then around $600 per month for the 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth.
