  • They just keep bumping it up in price

  • May be that's why they were happy to cancel my order due to delay in delivery

That CPU has a TDP of 140W, in Spain, only the electricity consumed by that CPU already costs 30 €/month...

  • Is it a good price? Or getting a SYS with 250mpbs up would be better :#

  • Not as exciting as the 1620v2 for 15 eur, doubt they will ever top that

  • Having this machine with 100mbps is useless. Not worth it until it's at least 250mbps.

Might be, but not everyone is running them at 100%, right.
Same reason likely Hetzner said, if you crypto mine all day and night long, we going to kick your ass back to russia.

  • What's the point of this one? Fuckloads of RAM?

Not biting this time, the previous two LE's will keep me warm.

Double Memory, nearly Double CPU Performance.
The slow spinning rust remains the same shitty bottleneck.

If they at least could throw a SSD into it.

I got it to replace my i5 9600k (5500 vs 7300 GB5), being much cheaper.
Compared to the old KS-LE, the single-core speeds are higher, which is a must for my use case.

I'm going to skip this one as well and agree with those above. It would be much better as a SYS LE getting at least the higher speed and additional IPs.

    Thanked by 1pan_ia0_net
  • I'll skip this offer the previous two ks-le are more value for money.

hahaha! I actually got a response from KS support about 3 hours ago but not before having to raise another ticket through my OVHCloud account, call them and ask for it to be escalated before expiry. Fixed and renewed for €19.99 :)

Yep, hoping I'll have an excuse to switch to SYS later on

  • I don't get why they keep making these kimsufis, powerful hardware is wasted with only a 100mbps port. Would make way more sense to sell these as SoYouStart with the 250mbps and extra IPv4.

    Thanked by 1pan_ia0_net
  • I wonder how many people cancelled the 2 earlier KS-LEs over the 100mbit limitation, having some regret about ordering the first one myself.

20% off Kimsufi code KS20CA for new Canada servers only, including the KS-LE, however I think the fine print says it would apply to first payment only (not renewal and not setup fees) so it's kind of a sucky promo IMHO. Expires March 14. https://www.kimsufi.com/en/servers.xml

    This is my understanding too.

  • Doesn't beat the $17.99/mo deal.
