how about @nyamenk and @add_iT
4 in use, at least 10 are idling. The exact number is unknown until the renewal email arrives.
17 Idle VPS
1 Idle Dedicated Server
I believe around 3. Idle.
4 with RackNerd
1 with Time4VPS
1 with AlexHost
1 with BuyVM
1 with AlphaVPS (free)
1 with GreenKVM (expiring soon)
3 of them will probably be put to use soon. Let me know if there is anything I can do with the rest. I’m fine with not making money on them.
11 is my magic number. idle all time
Somewhere around 12 right now, a couple of them being dedicated servers.
I should be putting about half of them into production soon, though.
Last time I packed up an apartment before moving, I realized that I have about $300 of idling cash.
They are in various envelopes, backpacks, camera backs, pillow cases, etc.
Now I have $40 idling cash, but probably more that I wouldn't know until I'm moving.
Geocaching and lifting.
soon => later => never
I'm embarrassed to say I have over 10 idling servers.
No need to be embarrassed. You're in good company ofc. I've got well more than this, too.

I'm at 3 dedis and 4 VPS's myself. Gotta cut on them but I'm too lazy to move data away.
Out of all of mine (linked in my signature), I think only 2 or 3 were idling, and they had a decent amount of monthly data transfer at 1Gbps so I started running ArchiveTeam Warrior on them to help with some archival projects.
Anywhere else:

Everything I rent is idling... I might have a problem.
Idle, what is this thing you call "idle"?
7 x VPS - Running BGP, but otherwise idling.
3 x VPS - Running a K8S cluster for experimentation. Next to no workload on them... Idling.
2 x VPS - bought during sales, was going to use as VPN... Idling
3 x VPS - Docker + GlusterFS
1 x VPS - My online IDE
2 x VPS - Backup Servers
I knew it was bad, but I did not know it was this bad, lol. After actually counting them, 36 is the current total; of those only 4 are active. I will be getting rid of 7 during March/April though, and, if time permits, bringing the count of those that have at least some purpose up to 8.
The only saving grace is that, excepting one, these are all small, or even tiny, mostly insanely cheap (duh) instances so the financial drain is not as great. I jumped into this headfirst during BF 2020, and I think I will eventually need to get real and cut my "collection" down to real gems and real workers only
This thread remined me that i have 3 idle VPS with OVH and 2 with Contabo was lazy to cancel, Now i canceled them and they will be canceled in march so will be saving some $$ for next month
I wonder if we can start a thread for ppl to sell their idle vps's. Guess that would really work, maybe rent them out? 😁😁
Sell yes, rent no (unless you have a very good reputation on LET)
There's so many things that can go wrong
You didn't read terms of LET membership? It's required.
What could have been many idle VPS became part of my geocast network.
Truth be known I have two VPS idle, but I expect to do something with them soon.
Membership extended.
more than 2 dozen
I have closed some, but there are still a few.
