  • If it's just for personal use, 6-9 numerical digit .xyz domains cost just 99 cents to renew.

  • .IN (Not cheapest, but cheap and short)
    First year $2
    Renewal $4

    No whois privacy though

  • .top from porkbun is cheap.

  • Maybe I'm an idiot but there no longer seems to be anyway to open an OVHCloud account in the US. You get re-routed to their global or canadian property and it doesn't have a drop down to support US addresses. You can create an account but the identity check then requires you to choose a non US address. The linked image above is possible to recreate, but when one actually goes to checkout they get redirected off US.OVH.com to the Canadian site and infinitely stuck.

    No whois privacy though

149 INR for First year if purchased for two years together.

    599 INR is renewal.

Regarding privacy now for .in domains , information is hidden from whois except for registrar details.

Yes. For example "domcomp.com" shows mistakes. If you want an example, look at .wtf on renewal, you will see that "domcomp.com" recommends the cheapest renewal and transfer with GoDaddy at $4.99, but GoDaddy actually asks for $42.99 on renewals and transfers of .wtf TLD.

In my opinion TLD-LIST is better than Domcomp, but maybe this is just my taste.

EDIT, to be on topic: the TLD does not matter on how cheap it is, but on how useful it is. Nowadays many people started to register and use their own TLDs in the Handshake registry; therefore old TLDs might slowly become obsolete as internet evolves.

    Sorry, my bad in exchange.
This should be $8 for renewal.

  • .eu when there is the 10 years deals for 12EUR/10y (not often, but happened regularly during the last years). Renewal in 10+ years will be more expensive though, but it'll likely still be one of the cheapest extension, while being relatively future proof compared to some of the new purely commercial/private ones, which has to be taken into account if you're looking for a domain for a long term project.

This site just showing cheapest registration but now renewal, and some tld can't be register especially at first page , although it showing available

Some people perhaps prefer renewal price than registration price

what make TLD-LIST superior than others are premium domain checker that very helpful, so we can forget if it was categorized as premium domain

  • Thx everyone IV managed to snag a couple cheap gems
