@NDTN GreenCloud VPS $40/three years
YABS completed in 19 min 7 sec
Which is this deal??
@plumberg

AMD Ryzen 3800X 64GB + 2x480GB $40.00/month
Ryzen-Rootserver S @avoro @dataforest @php-friends
^ The disk speed is insane! I have never seen such numbers in yabs before.
Maybe run on RAM?
That is simply completely insane @dataforest.
A few questions:
But that's definitely insane value for that money!
Hi,
in general its Ryzen Threadripper or Genoa 9374F, in case of a failure it can happen, that you get migrated to a Ryzen TR node. It should be noted that we will no longer be building any new Ryzen TR nodes, so these will be phased out and replaced by the Genoas. We are currently building 9754 for our normal root servers, but these still need some time, the delivery time is a little longer So far we are very happy with the AMD Epyc Genoas.
The 10G speed test is slow, as the DDoS protection has kicked in and filtered, but the performance is the same as with our root servers.
Do you only get migrated when a failure occurs or can it also happen during a reboot (I think that would be possible with ceph), and in a case of failure, would you somewhen get migrated back to a 9374F, as the single core speed seems to significantly differ?
Also disk speed?

update:
beast!
VPS Entry Linux VC1-2 from Strato.nl

@dataforest how do I get one of this :AMD EPYC 9374F 😉
I running on a AMD 7513
Not available for Rootservers.
This is great.
Run another speedtest against YouFibre London server.
What offers have these CPUs?
Hi,
with our Ryzen Rootservers, will soon be renamed to Compute Rootserver, as Ryzen no longer fits
@dataforest and what's the traffic limit for the Epyc rootservers?
And sorry for asking that many questions.
Strato.de VC2-2, 2€/month
CruchyBoi after ~6 months
Could maybe someone with an Avoro Epyc Rootserver test if there the disk speed (now) is the same as in the above YABS?
this my rootserver s on "old" threadripper node:
this is my "new" (thank you tim @dataforest) rootserver s on 9374F node:

your wish is my command!
made on avoro rootserver s - testserver with hard mitigation.
Seems to use a different (slower) storage system, maybe local storage, but still very fast. Very good is also that single core == multi core, so no overselling (I know the cores are dedicated, but likely only threads, IIRC there was some discussion around this).
But the single core speed seems to only be around 70% of the newer Rootserver, so again @dataforest: When you get migrated because of a hardware failure to an older 3970X system, will you get migrated back somewhen?
my "old" rootserver s was already very beefy but the upgrade is a nice gimmick.
Is this your VPS still available? If you intend to transfer it after upgrading, please inbox me. Thank you!
Apple M3 4.05GHz (8 cores)
(Can't run yabs on it, so only Geekbench scores)
