LET has broken SEO

It is enough to add one rule in Cloudflare to redirect from www to non-www, none of the LET administrators has fixed it so far.

Half of the links are indexed with the www.lowendtalk.com domain and the other half with the lowendtalk.com domain (there are still some indexed links with other test subdomains). The canonical tag also comes in several forms and is not set correctly, which makes it useless in this case.

The funny thing is that some users link to the forum without www, and because I'm logged in to domain with www, I have to log in again on the domain without www to see a content.

Example - open these links:
LowEndTalk.com
www.LowEndTalk.com

Here is an example of how this can be easily fixed on the CloudFlare side:

Poll
  1. What domain are you using?75 votes
    1. LowEndTalk.com
      72.00%
    2. www.LowEndTalk.com
      25.33%
    3. Other - write in the comment
        2.67%
  2. What domain would you like to use?75 votes
    1. LowEndTalk.com
      84.00%
    2. www.LowEndTalk.com
      13.33%
    3. Other - write in the comment

@jbiloh, would be great if you can make these changes. Bugged me for a while and I even missed a giveaway due to this bug.

    What's with your signature though?

www.lowendtalk.com is best for .com domain.

But the domain name with www is terribly long.

Vanilla's search is awful, so I search low end talk via the, site:lowendtalk.com some search term method via my search engine of choice and get staging.lowendtalk.com often in my results.

    Annoying.

We are also looking into the old staging.lowendtalk issue.

  • Yup, worst thing is that I need to be logged in on both sites, very annoying on my phone where suddenly I have no night mode because I clicked search result in Google which includes "www" and I normally use on without "www.

Really appreciate the fyi on this. We will get it fixed.

  • TBH, I never even noticed; pulling the URL from the Firefox opening page. :s
Using a www subdomain drives me crazy! (Amongst other stuff ;) )

  • No more www.lowendtalk.com links from e-mails notifications while my session is on just lowendtalk.com? Good.

Also fuck Chrome for hidding the "www." part, took me 3 minutes to figure out why the fuck I am not logged in this tab, but I am on other.
