Low latency to China

CPU 1H
memory 2G
Hd 20g
120 ms delay
Price: $5-10
Will there be such VPS?

  • Monthly or yearly? :D.

  • I think you can try Tencent Cloud or Alibaba Cloud. They are local cloud service providers in China and provide Hong Kong servers. Usually has a low latency to China.

    Oracle Cloud Tokyo
    4 cores
    24GB RAM
    200GB SSD
    500Mbps network
84ms RTT to most of China
$0/month if it's your home region

Aliyun Hong Kong has 80ms average RTT.
It's not my server so I don't know how much it costs.

The price of traffic in China is relatively expensive. If the traffic price is similar to other countries. I will choose Alibaba Cloud or Tencent Cloud

G-Core Labs provide Khabarovsk location, only 100 km to China border. Ping around 76-90ms. To Beijing even 51ms. But everything depends destination city and local carrier routing.

I used to use this LG to check latency to Viet Nam, hope it useful to the OP

I think you'd be filtered by 秦始皇's The Great Wall

  • @BAKA said: No hope.

That depends local routing. I get 350ms and 51ms on test with different routes in China.

  • OP should specify what you mean by saying China. In terms of International connectivity to China, it varies much by region and ISP.
And OP should clarify your expected bandwidth & traffic cost. As you already know, routing and traffic to China is expensive.

    • If you only mean Hong Kong, China, then most Asia is good enough.
    • If you mean China Mobile in southern China, then Singapore VPS (preferrably optimized routing) will do.
    • If you mean China Mobile or China Unicom in east China, then you may find a handful of VPS in Japan, with some packet loss in the evening.
    • If you mean northern China, then a handful of east Russia VPS may do, with some packet loss in the evening.

But if you need low latency & low packet loss to most areas in China, then either you should buy a VPS within China, or buy a VPS with China Telecom CN2-GIA or China Unicom AS9929 routing, or buy IPLC transfer service.
But none is within LET range except some non-recurring promotion or starter's package from Tencent Cloud or Alibaba Cloud.

Btw, always test connectivity to China in the evening (Beijing time). Most overseas VPS have seemingly wonderful performance during daytime, but 10%-50% packet loss in the evening, which approximates broken.

  • But look at the packet loss :D

I'd rather choose 200ms+0% loss than 50ms+10% packet loss.

  • @BAKA said: I'd rather choose 200ms+0% loss than 50ms+10% packet loss.

That your way. But you cannot find ideal location with low ping and no packet loss for China.

  • @BAKA said: But look at the packet loss

    http://ping.pe/114.234.139.6

Local Chinese host also have huge packet loss even inside country.

    Try vhost.vn or vietnix.vn

I want rent one VPS at vietnix.vn. Unfortunately vhost.vn dont offer any VPS in Gia Re.

    vietnix.vn:
I have not found any Information about Connection speed & Bandwidth.

Can somebody post maybe a bench Script would be great.

  • Yes, Tencent Cloud often holds preferential activities. The prices of the servers in these activities are very low

Why do you post an IP that is not responding to ping at all?
Look, the IP in the same /24 doesn't have any packet loss at all within Mainland China:

Note: Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China are not the same thing when speaking of the Internet.

  • @BAKA said: Why do you post an IP that is not responding to ping at all?

At the time when I reply IP was responding. Try near IP instead.

China show same packet loss in four locations when I check.
