Smokeping little break ?

Hello,
unfortunately, we have a so-called forced separation by our ISP that takes place once a day at 3 o'clock. Here the router is resynchronized and the internet connection is gone for about 5 minutes.

Is it possible to schedule a kind of break in Smokeping so that the graphics is not distorted and exactly between 3 o'clock the latency is extremely high ?

I know that many of you like to use smokeping very much

  • why di you care if the graph missing while connection down/slow?
that’s the point using smokeping so you know something goes wrong at that time.

  • @sibaher, his graph is not missing, but re-scaled, so the useful data (outside that 5 minute period) is not visible.
Example when the maximum latency is 10 000 milliseconds (10 seconds), on a 1000 pixels height graph, all the values between 10-20 milliseconds are shown on the same line of pixels.

@TeoM, SmokePing does not have this kind of scheduling built-in.
You could decrease the timeout value (they default to 5 seconds, curl is 10 seconds) to show outage at lower latency, change the max_rtt value to crop down the top of the graph, or set logarithmic to yes to display the graphs on logarithmic scale.
