How much can I get?

edited December 2021 in Help

Hello!
Since our current datacenter isn't suitable for customer range which are not happy with NAT settings, I'm very curious to do a case study regarding "how much can I get per month for our dedicated server?".

Colocated server has:

  • 2x E5-2637 v3 CPU (8c / 16t, 3.50 - 3.70 Ghz)
  • 256 GB DDR4 ECC Memory
  • 2x 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD
  • 4x 3TB 7.2K rpm SAS drives
  • 8x 4TB 7.2K rpm SAS drives
  • 10Gbit connection (2.5 GB/s peak value with YABS)
  • Unlimited monthly traffic

Thank you!

You're asking the wrong audience if you're curious what a realistic asking price is for a monthly rental on that server.

What location or DC is it in? How many IPv4? V6?

Unmetered 10Gbps is worth a lot.

  • Question is how much do you want for it?

    600USD

It is in Bacau, Romania and datacenter itself is small enough to be "unknown" here having hundreds of servers owned but under 10 colocated, I guess.
IPv4 only 1 included but everybode can come with his own IPs over their ASN.

No idea, I just try to create a path for further steps with our dream.

No. They are an old romanian company which hosts only their own equipments which are used by romanians only who rent gameservers infrastructure.

@FlorinMarian you mean Telesystem SRL , a simple DC , hosts desktops for kids with games. I like to call them GazduireJoace

because I had a scandal with them in the past :)

  • If you own the server hardware, you can just relocate that to another location which is more attractive for your customers.

As probably you may know, I can't deal with your own disputes.
I'm good with them, excepting some little issues which will be solved in time.
Good luck with your own business!

Whaaaattttt? that's so cheap and ridiculous price for something like that.

    I'll take it for $8/yr

  • What NAT settings are the customers not happy with?

    • IPv6 not native
    • UDP blocked
    • Docker not working
    • SSH handshake has noticable lag of more than 2 seconds
