Just curious, that's all. Not looking to colo right now, that is.

Only one I can think of is @DataIdeas-Josh who can perhaps come close to that. Although it will probably be more $$

  • euh... 26ish is not budget for servers. I just spent the same amount on chocolates today, some nutella and packs of biscuits.

for a little higher ~30ish euro, it is not impossible. It depends on power + bandwidth. Generally the answer is no, but I have seen some discounted offers for ~30€. Do not expect something better than 0.5 amps and 100mbps unl. or 1gbps but with like 5-10 TB per month. Worldstream used to have an offer for 29€, 1U, it is gone. Severius once had a sale for 30€ instead of 50€. If you know your sever has limited power consumption you can check with providers on LET for a custom offer.

There is a reason data-centers are stopping to offer those deals. It just isnt worth the headache when looking at the amount of "net profit" that generates.

Huh? is volumedrive still alive? I thought they stopped offering services. Nothing under dedis nor VPS. no Updates after 2012, and I remember emailing them once a couple years ago but got no reply.

Active Servers in Frankfurt offers tower housing at €20 plus power costs plus €15 setup in Europe, rack hosting (1U) comes at €25 and €20 setup. 1TB @ 100mbit included. But I cannot tell anything about their quality, as I have never used their service nor found a provider using their service (but I was not looking actively so your detective work may differ).

You can. Just don't expect to get your server back because it will be gone one way or another.

Hi, we can do colo for free.
Not US, but more exotic than that.
You can definitely get your server back.

    Our lowest colo offer is:
    Dallas, TX
    1U Colocation
    1amp @ 120V
    10TB Bandwidth on 1Gbps port
DDoS protection and network from Hivelocity.
    IPv4 /29 (5 usable IPs) + IPv6 /64
    $35/mo

It will be hard to find any decent colocation offers for $26/month.

    That statement ignores power.

    • 19.9 for the space
    • 0.2618 per kw/h of power usage.
    • 1TB traffic is included, need a second one? that'll be +8 euro.

Realistic calulation even if you use a mac mini for energy savings or if you get one of the super-micro E200-9A or similar.

    Lets say 30 watts power draw.... so 30w * 24 hours * 7 days * 4.33 weeks in an average month = 21823 watt hours => 21 kwh

    power cost = kwh * price = 21* 0.2618 = 5.71 euro

    total with no extra traffic:
    space + power + traffic = 19.9 + 5.71 + 0 = 25.61

According to google: 25 Euro equals 28,30 United States Dollar, 27 Nov, 12:58 UTC
