Mono is basically dead now. I'm using .NET 5.0, which runs natively on Linux. .NET 6.0 came out recently but I haven't upgraded yet. https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet/6.0

You don't even need a fancy IDE; you can create a new project and compile it via command-line tools (dotnet new and dotnet run)

I will add it to my todo list.
I guess when MS released .net for linux there was no point in continuing to develop mono.

I think technically Microsoft owns Mono now, after they acquired Xamarin. AFAIK they still use parts of Mono for Android and iOS apps written in C#. It's also still useful for running legacy .NET Framework 4.x apps on Linux. Most usages of .NET Framework should eventually be migrated to the open-source .NET though.

Personally as a CloudCone customer, I have to agree their support isn't up to par and they don't seem very professional. Would love to have some confirmation bias that it isn't just me.
