    nice. i only do anime/manga/LN right now. it feels like i can't evolve into a full weeb without going through a few VNs first. maybe a body pillow too..

    I am looking for a yearly vps deal to play around with and learn what I can use a VPS for. Control panels, scripts containers etc. Just a "playground" so not looking to spend a lot. But need atleast 2gb ram cause that's the sweet spot for many programs.

    Might write tutorials about it along the way

    Let's be real, a VPS isn't that big of a deal. It's not like we even actually own the hardware.
    Of course, I'd be happy, having a presence in Japan even virtually. I'd go flex on my friends, also I'd be able to play Japan-exclusive games with the holy Japanese IP.
    (Perhaps it's better that others got the deal and not me, maybe they'll use it in an actually useful manner.)
    As for the price range, $12/yr would be fine or maybe a little more. The economy here is as good as the Internet quality here.

    They resell it at "secondary market" for a premium price(from 20% of the original value up to 200%, depending on the rarity and value/reputation of the service/hosting provider), and of course they are Mjjs at Hostloc(Chinese Web hosting community).

    I am quite curious does the NAT VPS by WebHorizon works? Or you need dedicated IP addresses. Alternatively, how about VPN?

    also don't be disappointed when your Japan exclusive-games won't work from Japan DATACENTER IP - some of those are blocked ;')

    Hey, it's fine. I don't really need a Japan VPS that much. The ping is awful anyway.
    My only mission here was to spread the culture. Not only I could do that, it seems like I've found a few weeb comrades on my mission and I had a shit ton of fun. That's a successful BF in my book!

    Not all Japan VPS's IP can meet such criteria. Some such games/websites have rather strict limitations.

    About that, they are not Netflix. Usually they don't care about whether your IP is residential or not.
