    3TB for €70/year isn’t cheap?

Please tell me where you’re getting a lower price.

    @cociu
thank me later for the hint.

You just didn't recognize if you spend that amount for one dinner in many countries people live a whole month for that money.

    €70 for one dinner?

I had a $90 dinner that comes with a cruise ticket, and a $70 dinner that comes with a visit to Seattle's Space Needle.

I haven't seen any pure dinner that costs this much.

Here in Spain 7/10 level restaurants costs that per person on normal days. For some special days like Christmas or New Year or so starts from that in any restaurant( usually 7/10 charges. Restaurant from 120 euros to x for such days)

in Germany we have same prices all year long, not matter how special the day is

just a note that our package is 3.5TB (0.5TB more) so it is cheaper per TB

Only one item is over €70:
    Grand Plateau, $115

    The runner up is:
    Bone-in Ribeye 22oz, $58

I can get the same on 🥬FreshDirect for $41.46, and it has twice the protein weighing 2.44lb.
Notice: affiliate link, $25 off first order; non-aff no $25.

Depends on if you mean lower overall or just lower per TB.

Last Black Friday, Servarica had "Polar Bear Storage Offer" for $48/year, but it only had 2TB instead of 3TB.
HostHatch had 10TB for $120/year, but stock was very limited.

  • @Daniel15 said: Depends on if you mean lower overall or just lower per TB.

I mean 3TB for less. Not overall, not per TB, just find me a plan where you get 3TB of storage for less than €70/year.

Bonus points if it's in Belgium.

Yeah I think that's impossible given the specs...

HostHatch had a flash sale for 2TB for $40/year, and they sometimes let you stack two of the same plan, which would have been 4TB for $80/year... Roughly around the same price but for 4TB.

CPUs on HostHatch's storage plans are often very lowend though (sometimes they're an E5-2680 v2 or similar, which is fine, but other times they're a 6 or 8 core Xeon L series), so it's not directly comparable to EPYC cores and you'd need a NVMe VPS in addition to it to get decent compute performance.

I don’t actually want a plan, I was just making the point that @jenkki is a bellend for proclaiming 3TB for €70/year as ‘not cheap’.

But since it's shutting down... Refugee offers available? Need a new home for my 3TB plex setup.
(full specs: 3TB storage, 10TB bandwidth [but 3TB would be more than sufficient], 4GB RAM, 2 EPYC cores - 70€/year)

    try @cociu

    Hi all,

I didn't realize I would get so much attention on LES/LET about closing down. I suspected a lot of drama but instead I got a lot of positive responses which surprised me a bit and made me even more sad about closing down.

Anyway the reason is, I became a father not so long ago :) And there is just too much time going into this, apart from my full time work as an IT consultant. I need to spend more time with the family. And yes the company was a one-man show.

Another reason is, I made some spectaculair sales on LET and LES but these were made to get some attention, but I never succeeded in the marketing bit of hosting. I'm a 100% technical guy, I think I had a great setup but I had no buyers that were willing to pay a fair price for it. That combined with all the other costs, colo, software licensing, IP rental etc etc the list is very long. It was impossible to make a profit and I was losing a lot of money every month. Money I can spent elsewhere.

I really enjoyed it though and I wish I succeeded and could have done it full time but unfortunatley it didn't pan out as expected.

I know I made a post on WHT about takeover, I never came to create a hardware list but here it is: https://pastebin.com/Fw8dH3nT

I will keep running until next year, if someone is interested in takeover let me know. Create a ticket on https://billing.novos.be. Or if you have some other idea let me know as well. If there are no interesting offers I will just sell the hw individually.

    Thanks guys!
