Emails marked as "Ads" by Gmail

Hello,

After changing from Mailersend to Mailjet I noticed Google started marking all my system emails as "Ads" in my Gmail inbox. It dosen't bother me personally, but I have a few clients that noticed it.

Is there anything I can do or will it fix itself?

Probably a stupid question but -

Are you sure that the "system emails" are not systematic marketing emails?

They are sent from a noreply address, but the content is mostly weekly stats. Just noticed reset password mails are also being marked as "Ads".

  • Had similar issues, I think Gmail marks those “free” providers as ads. Was fine after moving to ses.

Makes sense. I have one of their "Premium" plans but no dedicated IP..

  • It's about the IP quality.

It's hard to know if you can get out of that label now without training the system. They don't talk about it much but we know it's a self learning system and I assume repetition trains it. Repetition on changing the label may be the most effective.

    Or not. Damn AI systems.
