Has anyone tried Terrahost.no object storage?

I'm a customer with Terrahost.no but I am currently using Wasabi object storage for my app (assets like user uploads etc). Wasabi is based in Amsterdam so there's a little latency.

I was wondering if anyone here has experience with Terrahost's own object storage? It would be in the same data center so performance would be better but I don't know about reliability.

Thanks

  • I've been using their VPS's for a few years (as I'm in Norway), but did not know they offered object storage. Where is it stated?

I also use Wasabi but don't really mind the location as I'm using Cloudflare on top of it.

I asked them a while back and they told me data is replicated 3 times.

I don't think it's something they've announced just yet. From what I understand it's still kind of "in beta", but you can access it by logging into the Enigma control panel.

    There's also this:

Minimum monthly charge across all buckets is $11.5 per month (500GB).

    Terrahost.no Price is expensive

    Norway is expensive.

  • Thanks, I created a few buckets in the meantime and the performance is great. Since my servers are in the same data center operations involving assets are much faster now with minimal latency.

Yeah it's a bit expensive but not much difference compared to DigitalOcean for example, but Terrahost with $11.5/mo gives you 500GB with unmetered bandwidth usage (support told me this when I asked), while DigitalOcea, Linode, UpCloud charge $5/mo for 250GB and some bandwidth included, then they charge extra for bandwidth. So all in all not a big difference. I've been using Wasabi as primary storage mirrored automatically to Backblaze B2 just in case. I am now basically replacing Wasabi with Terrahost.

S3 API compatibility is good too, e.g. things like direct uploads with presigned URLs work just fine.
