The provider need a SPLA Microsoft license agreement to offer Windows (or any other microsoft software) as a service. What version of windows are you looking for? (different prices for different versions ;) )

  • Bought one from ccpgsolutions http://ccpg.co.uk/

But not instant setup, i'm wondering if they are still in business

Yes, it's difficult to offer them below that, with licensing costs usually around $80-100/mo for an 8-core host.

I think that the licensing model of spla is really crazy, don't you?

You certainly have to jump through a few hoops to get what you need (what else is new with MS), but the licensing costs for their end-user services like Server 2008 and Exchange actually aren't bad.

Yes prices aren't bad, I just remember days with my MS specialist guys reading again and again the fine prints to understand how per cpu model was to be handled in virtual environment ;)

Why don't you get a XEN VPS for at 7$ or less?

There is an option in lowendbox
    YardVPS – $6.36/month 512MB XEN-PV in Los Angeles

@Joodle: I am second to the use Corgitech Vmware for 6 dollar 512m 20g. You can install your own window iso. They are currently doing promo until end of this month.

    I have their earlier promo 6.99 for 512m and 40g 1Tb.
I'll avoid having their Dallas data center. I have problem with Dallas so asked to move to NYC and happy with it. They have various location.
