Did those that bought their server got it by now? It's still not ready for me, weird for OVH.

Yes, I have 2 dedis with them. They charghed my card, they said they'll email me with the server info, but unless it's lost in email heaven, I didn't get it. Hmmm, let me check my laptop in case it pop3 downloaded it, I have thunderbird on it which I forgot. And YES, I have the email!!! All OK, thanks @dahartigan

Yeah, I would have bitten at that price.

did you get any upgrade or is it same as advertise?

  • Why the hell is one EU country missing in SyS IE new customer list? So they don't want any orders?

    It's as advertised

  • Is the canada location a problem for torrenting? (not seedbox, just client down/up)

I've never had any hassles with this from OVH/SYS/Kimsufi in the past in Canada, and my account dates to 2018. Hardly a heavy user though, pretty much just grabbing new eps and a movie here and there (occasional backfill) all on public trackers, but with 0 seeding/uploading.

    TL;DR: Go ahead :)

It is usually only the lowest ranges (the Atoms) where you get a better unit than advertised because of availability (a slightly better Atom, my KS-1 has an N2800 instead fo D425, or a bigger drive). In fact, I can't say I've heard of it happening for the higher ranges at all.

It has happened in the past. Mostly it was a slightly faster CPU ...

    KS-7 Server - Intel i3 2130 - 8Go DDR3 1333 MHZ - 2To

    https://www.kimsufi.com/en/order/kimsufi.xml?reference=1804sk181 (Euros)

    https://www.kimsufi.com/ca/en/order/kimsufi.xml?reference=1804sk181 (Dollars)

    Seems to be €8.99 /month instead of €14.99 /month ($10.99/mo instead of $17.99/mo)

Decent deal for an i3 with 2TB of HDD attached, grabbed one, couldn't resist.

Seems to be more in stock, so get 'em before the mjjs do ;)

    Edit: Thanks https://checkservers.ovh/ ;)

FYI the dollarz link is coming up as $12.99/mo (not $10.99). (Euro link still 8.99/mo, though)

    It's $12.99 Canadian. If you change /ca/ to /us/ in the URL it'll show US$10.99: https://www.kimsufi.com/us/en/order/kimsufi.xml?reference=1804sk181

    interesting.

cannot believe it that only two letters will help reduce the cost, from fr to ca eradicating the vat, and from ca to us reducing another 2+ usd.

It's 12.99 CAD vs. 10.99 USD. And it does not reflect any exchange rate.

No, No nooooo, the EU link was available all the time.
