Looking for a cloud storage
Just something like dropbox but cheaper; commercial service, I don't want VPS or owncloud or to set it up myself. I don't want or care about mobile, curation, etc. Card, PP, BTC, Alipay all work.
- Is livedrive still a thing? I remember dozens of terrible "white label" resellers back in the day.
- IDrive is 5TB for $10/yr first year, then $60/yr, but it's client is terrible, its support is terrible, and doesn't work with rclone or webdav
- I assume $149 degoo lifetime 15TB is some kind of scam or mobile-only or pictures-only
I don't really want to think about going over or paying per GB, or paying bandwidth per GB, otherwise would just use S3. What are the usual LTD's like? Or stacksocial stuff? Mostly crap still like degoo and the other unknown new companies offering unlimited for life?
Absolute requirement, extremely picky:
- 1TB+
- Supports anything that can be mounted like a drive in windows and mac (s3 compatible? webdav? i don't care as long as i don't have to install their proprietary software)
- Can be used like network drive (not backblaze where you must retain a copy of it)
I don't want photo compression or AI or identification bullshit - there will be high res images that I took myself and I expect them to be bit for bit copy
I don't need public share links
- I don't need zero-knowledge
- I don't need dmca proof (privacy is good, but I don't mind if they hash or dedupe my files, there is not going to be any match commercial movies or anything)
- It's not for plex or illegal/dmca. just personal files like photoshop and after effects projects, art/music
- I'm trying to avoid Amazon or Onedrive or Google to spread things out
- I'm not mega nerd using Linux on a Thinkpad, I don't want to gpg my adobe project files before I upload them
@Ympker any chance of a LTD storage chart just like VPN one ?

OpenDrive is cheap and mountable via
rclone mount
. Used them before and it's pretty great but network speeds vary from time to time.Cloudflare + B2 for free bandwidth and $0.005/GB for storage is a good deal though, if you ask me.
I am happy with hetzner storage box https://www.hetzner.com/storage/storage-box
@ericmiller
Or hosted nextcloud
https://www.hetzner.com/storage/storage-share
Is this just like running your own copy of FreeNAS?
My bank does not like hetzner (or gandi, ovh, or internet.bs for that matter, and my other card is Unionpay only). Any others?
Why not try OneDrive?
Its like $100 for family plan with 6 users, and 1TB storage per user (total - 6TB) Or personal plan for $40-$50, I don't remember exact amount.
Also, some users have reported that you can stack 4 personal plan and 1 family plan to get 5 years of family subscription.

wdym it doesn't like hetzner?
Haven't used them personally but I've heard Jottacloud is cheap and decent: https://www.jottacloud.com/en/. They are also rclone compatible.
Just note that their "unlimited storage" isn't actually unlimited, they will throttle, warn and finally suspend you if you go crazy. See this table for the actual limits: https://docs.jottacloud.com/en/articles/3271114-reduced-upload-speed
20TB on Jottacloud ATM, just network throttle but no suspension.
Taking a look at jottacloud and opendrive.
Bank of America canceled my card last time I tried to pay hetzner and gandi, then send me a new one with a new number saying they helped prevent my stolen card from being abused for fraud. I don't know why. They did the same thing when I buy from aliexpress. It's complete shit but they were one of the (very VERY) few that allowed me a CC and bank account while not being american, the only reason I'm still there is because of how difficult it is to open one elsewhere, requiring in person notary, immigration and student work authorization papers, etc.
Maybe first try calling them, that you authorise this transaction and explain your situation
