Storage VPS for Image Host
Hi All,
I am looking for storage VPS (500GB+) of 1gbps port and 30 to 50TB bandwidth with the cheapest price as like NexusByte and BuyVM.
I already have 1 VPS from them and I am looking to spread my website bandwidth to other providers.
I am right now spending approximately 5USD or less with them.

I can see that it is mentioned as up to 10TB block storage, where are the links to see the pricing of block storage.
I do have one question, do I need to worry about backups when I go with block storage?
Yes, backups always
You always need to worry about backups.
If you're only hosting static images, look at B2 + Cloudflare.
Basically unlimited bandwidth no egress fees from B2 through the bandwidth alliance - and it's 1TB for $5/month
hay,
You need to worry with any provider.
Regards
Cloudflare kicked us out since we are image host as they allow their services to use only as a proxy, not as storage.
@key900 What is the storage block cost, I don't see any where and also the sizes.
In order form
You what?
Yes, it is static images. But I used CF and they kicked out saying we cannot store images on them.
Are you sure CF will allow to server PB of traffic for free if we store our files with B2 ?
Thanks
You mustn't have read the terms of service https://www.cloudflare.com/terms/
basically you can't use Cloudflare for only serving non-HTML content (pictures, videos, audio files, etc) unless you have a paid plan that specifically allows it. For example, if you were serving the entire site through it, it'd likely be fine. But only serving images is a good way to get your account suspended
I use Hetzners server auction servers for my filehosting site and I use ServerHunter to snipe low priced high storage servers. I have a handful of 16TB and 24TB that arent more than 50-60 euro/m. All the servers host the files through a vpn ip (ovpn.se), otherwise hetzner would suspend them due to takedowns
Not with Workers.
I don't know about others but I have some clients around a PB. Only Workers.
What is the speed you can achieve through the VPN provider?
Consider you are a file host, you should be pulling more than 1Gbps and more than 150TB of BW. Do they allow for 3USD public IPV4?
Yea speeds are pretty fine. I have file download speeds limited to 4MB/s on my servers and I'm able to pull max through the vpn ip.
Though it is important to pick locations with high bandwitdh (like stockholm for example) and depending on how many fileservers you have you might want to split them between vpn locations. You can see how much capacity and bandwidth their servers go through here https://www.ovpn.com/en/blog/transparency-report-may-2021
The downside of using a vpn is you have to make a new account for each dedicated ip you need. Say if you need to serve 5 fileservers behind them you need to buy 5 subscriptions with 5 seperate accounts, plus the dedicated ip addons
@imgmoney did you find a place yet?
I bought the packages from buyVM and NexusBytes. And then not satisfied with buyVM, so moved the VPS to NexusBytes.
And now again got one from AlwyzON. Now looking for the below requirement from 10 different providers or 10 different location
1) 20GB Storage
2) 10TB BW or unmetered
3) 1Gbits Port or 200Mbits
4) Less than or equal to 3USD
Woah, why?
Cannot able burst up to 1Gbits, maybe others are abusing it.
I haven't also reached that 1gb with buyvm, even on large plans.
Weird I can burst to 1.2gbps with no issues when needed (LUX). Maybe you guys got capped?
I don't know but no reason to cap us, as we only use it for small backups. Anyway, I already moved some of the VMs to another provider as I needed 4 cores and when using buyvm, to get 4 cores it will cost $60 plus block storage of 4tb so that will be $80 in total which is $0.02 per gb. So that price is comparable to object storage out there.
Let em know if you ever sign back up and I can look into it. If you were in LUX, I could understand it. But, GTT went live around 10 days ago greatly improving things
Francisco
https://www.time4vps.com/storage-vps/ does anyone know this company? I have been listening to it for years
@time4vps might know
Im still using Buyvm, I have no problem on bandwidth as we are only uploading small files. I just stated it, as every time we tried tried big files we have not reached that 1gb. We still have a couple of VMs in buyvm, we really dont need that much bandwidth. Anyway the reason we moved half of the entire stack us due to pricing. I know your current prices are reasonable but our infra needs at least 4 cores / 8gb ram on each instance with 4TB block storage. We are able to achieve this half your price on other providers. The idea is to be lower than standard pricing of object storage ($0.02/gb). Another reason is that we could not figure out why in your platform we are getting CPU spikes even the instance is not in use, compared to other host we tested. We tested on all your locations for 2 years.
