  • I think that in order to answer that question you need to have a really good idea of what your workload is >.>

I used Scaleway C1, on hourly basis, a few years ago.

My main use case was to compile software for the Raspberry Pi, because:

    • I couldn't figure out the dark art of cross-compiling.
    • C1 and Raspberry Pi have the same CPU architecture.
    • C1 has 2GB RAM, while Raspberry Pi has only 1GB.

Now C1 is discontinued, and I've been compiling on GitHub Actions using Balena Docker images that comes with QEMU.

I don't understand why people are flocking to the Pi Zero:

    • $5/quarter ( @DataIdeas-Josh , 2021 Pi Day )
    • 1 dedicated ARMv6 core 1GHz
    • 1 little GPU
    • 512MB RAM, shared between CPU and GPU
    • SD card storage

You can get a normal VPS at a lower price:

    • $16/year ( @SpartanHost , 2020 Black Friday )
    • 1 Ryzen 9 core 3.5GHz, AUP allows 50% persistent usage
    • no GPU
    • 1GB RAM
    • NVMe storage

The only thing you don't get is the GPU, but how many apps actually use the GPU?
I made one, but only if I physically attach a camera on the Pi Zero.
I don't see how the GPU can be used remotely.

@yoursunny Don't know but people enjoy the https://RPIServers.com
At the moment we have 1x Raspberry Pi 4 - 4GB Ram/256GB Drive left.
And might have a couple more come available on the 1st.
