in Help
There is uptimerobot.com and others.
Is there a self hosted solution which would offer similar services?
I am specifically looking for things like
Ping
Change in DNS Records
404 errors
503 errors
etc...

Not all functions but quite functional

zabbix, nagios? use terraform + regular re-runs to ensure dns state...
More than once I have transferred a domain and the mx records have been messed up causing delays in receiving email. A web based ui that would notify me when they are changes to such values would be great.
The answer is still the same
What kind of environment and size are we looking at?
Nagios/Naemon has a somewhat steep learning curve but is highly customizable and easy to automate. Icinga has good support for integration with things like Active Directory and template/rule based deployment. Both solutions have the possibility of writing your own plugins to monitor whatever you want.
did you look at hetrixtools, I think that it will cast most, if not all ...
Librenms
He did say self hosted..
Ask @Neoon for statibus.
Dashboard only, no email functionality.
Scale a few VPSs.
I use PRTG by Paessler https://www.paessler.com/prtg
Super simple, free for 100 monitors but probes only run on Windows
You can try this https://github.com/eidam/cf-workers-status-page
Running fine for free on CF workers.
Happy reading and choosing
