hi guys a friend of mine wants a web software (like Wordpress is for blogging and Prestashop for ecommerce) to control sales of their products and services... he also wants to be able to generate reports of sales per month per customer and so

he is using excel but i would like to help him to make it better... is there a free CMS for that?

  • @Jord BillingSrrv SAAS billing panel would be an easy solution for anyone who isn't "web savvy"

Alternatively, most of your standard billing softwares such as whmcs/blesta would do the job for basic stuff and reporting :).

You can also use any e-commerce software to get the same :)

If they need a full blown CRM with all those features then SuiteCRM is brilliant.

Or as @seriesn mentioned, you could just use some ecommerce software (like Prestashop as you mentioned) which would give you added bonus of selling online too - otherwise if there's an online shop there might need to be some sort of integration to link the two.

A CRM might give better options for staff management etc too if that's required.

  • Yes, SuiteCRM is one of the better of the many SugarCRM forks but just about any one of them would do the job. All of them are free for basic use. Just check, as most reserve some features for their paid for version.

A search should give you at least a dozen SugarCRM forks to choose from. As I understand the OP's brief, CRM is likely to do the job better than shopping cart utilities.

In either case, data entry would be the most important requirement and that is human, not automated.

If they're currently using an excel spreadsheet there's likely a way to import the data somewhat automatically with a bit of scripting/exporting.

  • Yes indeed. If. Even then, data has to be constantly updated. Using out of date data for customer relations really does not relate well to or with the customer.

We are currently perfecting our WordPress plugin, which will allow you to show your packages on your site, and take payments through BillingServ. I'm happy to have a chat with you to see how we can benefit your friend :)
