  • Are you using any form of redundancy for your offering? (RAID, replication or something else)

Personally I'd be interested if there was a S3 interface.

No these plans do not have redundancy. However, we offer enhanced redundancy with a very small extra charge.

So this server does not have RAID or any replication.
What kind of "enhanced" redundancy do you offer for very small extra charge?

Copy of your data to another server once per week for only $1-3 extra per month (depends on the plan)

These plans are not for backup purpose than, as your customers expect backup service and it’s no guarantee that their data will survive on your servers. So in this case you need to rename your service into FTP account access.

We offer this service for many years and never had disk failures as we use Enterprise disks. Our clients have used their backups many times succesfully and we never had any problems. We are not talking about primary data but backups. And yes they have saved our clients many times.

Update: This is my main concern: https://superuser.com/questions/251174/how-to-do-rsync-like-encrypted-backup

Do these storage spaces have an option of at-rest encryption?
By that I mean that if someone hacks into my account all they see is encrypted data / directories. That would be a great feature.
You could have at least a Howto in your documentation for someone to set it up inside their account if they wanted to.
Here is a comparison of some common encryption options:
    [1] https://nuetzlich.net/gocryptfs/comparison/
    [2] https://marllus.com/en/technology/2020/06/15/sync-cripto.html
[3] For ubuntu, the recommended option is LUKS full disk encryption: https://www.linuxuprising.com/2018/04/how-to-encrypt-home-folder-in-ubuntu.html
    [4] https://askubuntu.com/questions/366749/enable-disk-encryption-after-installation
I'm not too knowledgeable about the merits of these options, so don't ask me for expect advice. I just know how to use google :)

Nothing's stopping them from saying yes even though it isn't and even if they did they can still peek at the decrypted contents on a live machine, just encrypt it yourself before it leaves your machine.

By that I mean that if someone hacks into my account all they see is encrypted data / directories. That would be a great feature.

You specifically said my account and not hackers breaking into the storage nodes itself, how would the provider know it's not you when it's the same account?

No we do not do any encryption. As said, we only provide the storage space, you must encrypt your data before sending them to the backup space.
