I have decided try to do business with Contabo and prepaid for 3 months their "High performance SSD VPS"

VPS L SSD
€14.99 / month
8 vCPU Cores
30 GB RAM
100% Fast SSD Included

Here is benchmark of this VPS what i got - do your own opinion pls

    Don't expect to get the some performance you got from the other provider with every new provider you order from !

    Because each provider allocate different limits and also it depends on the node load ( how many customers in that node ) so don't expect high end VPS with low price it won't work !

    If you want dedicated resources , better to order dedicated server !

    Do you have feel that Multi core CPU is health limit and OK?
    Also SSD?

    Did you pop in a ticket asking them why is it low?

    There’s a major chance that they impose artificial limits :). They have done that with their ssd for ages and usually removes the limit upon ticket. Also 30GB ram for 15 per month, it should be given that the performance will be sub par boss. It is cheap for a reason.

    When i upgraded on higher plan and they promised me and wrote that believe that now i will satisfied with performance, and then i got this
    Tragicomedy.
    Waste of money and time

    That "not possible to provide a revocation since you ordered as business customer" is low.. :# If they refer to European consumer laws when it comes to refunds, what law allows to call their servers "High performance"?

    I have 4cpu and 8gb ram vps. My geekbench 5 scores are usually 700 for single core and 2400(+-) for multi core. Disk of contabo is not great and don't expect nvme performance. But there is problem with your cpu score. You should open a ticket and demand a relocation of your service on some other node. Maybe something went wrong on vps configuration.

    Well I mean, that's me though. Some people will publicly tell you, it is okay to wait 10 days for support ticket response because they are busy with sales and it is okay that their service is meh, because it is cheap.

    Hello. I have a bunch of VPSes where SATA-R10 gives more than this SSD ("R10")

    I asked once if Conatbo with 1600 GB SSD offer is actually one cheap desktop 2TB drive ( under provisioned (20%) to prolonged live) as on that price no one can profit with drives in RAID not to mention to be with enterprise one ... No one confirms or deny

    Dram less SSD as Crucial BX 500 or WD Greed can give you the result you show ....

    Were their site says Fast Raid 10 ? - 100% Fast SSD Included on top of the offers

    Did you ask them to lift the ssd limit?. You will still have limited I/O, but you can ask them to unlock the ssd speed, and also try again to see if it was just a loaded node.

    Thanks for providing feedback and I'm sorry you had bad experience with our VPS. I'm actually a bit surprised with your findings as there was another review published here a couple days ago showing way different results (https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3207405#Comment_3207405).

    I will ask our engineers to investigate and if you are interested, I can share the findings with you.

    Thank you for your response and willingness.

    I appreciate your effort save/redress situation where someone else (mean you mentioned colleagues responsible for performance) failed.

    But already (main from frustration & but also from no time reasons - need servers without such useless issues for waiting corporate customers instead resolve several days multiple ticket ping-pong) i have bought and provisioned suitable dedicated server as replacement of this VPS, so it's pointless/irrelevant, because i decided cancel it and stop use Contabo in future.

    Do you prefer choose quality or quantity?
    You can't choose both. You can't find 30GB RAM and 800GB SSD with just 15eur/month elsewhere (maybe in blackfriday :joy: )

    if they can't cancel or refund your service ask them to move to different node till you will be satisfied with their service. B2B contracts are different to consumers but provider need to satisfy the customer with service or otherwise the provider unable to fulfil their part of contact.

    Hello. I've been a Contabo customer since early Dec 2020. For the price they're providing these services, I think you need to be flexible enough to solve a couple of issues. Show me another provider that provides 6 cores 16gb of ram and 400gb ssd vps for 9 euros a month. You can't. After you sort out a couple of things, everything will work as intended.

    The only issue I've ever had with Contabo vps is constant high cpu steal (30-35%), but then I asked my node to be migrated over to another, less loaded node and -after some troubleshooting- they gladly did it for free and within 4 hours. There was another review on this forum that did not experience any cpu steal at all.

    Moreover, they have a working ddos protection, a kind and helpful support team and in case you read their ToS no surprises whatsoever.

    For 9 eur I can actually use the service to my preference unlike how @VirMach does with it's ridiculous AOP and "fair" share policy which is only fair for the host so the nodes can be better oversold.

    Overall, a very positive experience with them.
