IDK who edited that wikipedia page but it wasn't me
Abstergo and Desmond would like to have to word with you.
Alma in Spanish means "Soul"
finally! this gonna be awesome
I use Alma btw.
Ugh, doesn't have the ring, gonna skip.
In most languages. :-)
There are 7117 officially known languages in our small world.
Looking at that logo...um...is that five people humping each other?
Should this be called PullingATrainLinux?
w.r.t. to the ones listed in that wikipedia page. I should have clarified that to mean the major languages but I thought the reference was obvious. I'm not sure all those 7117 languages have 'alma' in their vocabulary. In any case, languages derived from Latin should have the same meaning barring a few.
I'm curious what chances it has to become a stock distro to be offered by major VPS/Cloud providers. And for CentOS 8 (Stream) to vanish from these lists.
AlmaLinux has released a beta version today.

"community-driven-replacement" - what community is behind AlmaLinux? Are they gathering that community right now?
I also hate the name AlmaLinux. AnimaLinux - like an latin name - would have been much better.
Personally, I would have named it DollarOS (or CoinOS) because it's born from CentOS. Hell, even DevelOS is a better name.
