Parler is boring but Skysilk warrants a second look at this point. Last time I used them I appreciated their platform, but wasn't a fan of the uptime.
Interesting... I thought they'd be an enterprise-ish provider given that tends to be the case with large deployments, but I had a quick look at their site and I'm surprised they have some lowend-ish VPS plans starting at $4/month for 1GB RAM and 25GB SSD (plus an extra $1/month for an IPv4 address).

isolation level and load balance reads across a cluster of replicas.Facebook's TAO (the graph database that powers a lot of the site) is built on top of MySQL. https://engineering.fb.com/2013/06/25/core-data/tao-the-power-of-the-graph/ . It does use eventual consistency like you mentioned.
