coloncrossing.com
is better.I'd suggest
yoursunnyhost.com
.1) Come with an incredible offer
2) Come with an offer that is annual or lifetime for some money
3) Take the money and deliver the server
4) Keep the money and shut down the server.
5) Be a dick on LET
Thank me later.
Better name like dollarvps.host with lifetime deals, oversell non existing hardware, hold all the funds and don’t deliver any accounts just keep promises and any issue with customers mentioned that all the services are non refundable like some hosts do
For 10k you can't buy much. 1 or 2 servers max.
To start, I would recommend just reselling dedis so you get a feel of things before you start dumping money into hardware (that you don't know if people will need)
If you don't want to waste your money, you need to speed the time it takes to create a detailed business plan.
Most of all, you need a clear plan for how to sell and make a profit on your services.
And don't expect that other web hosting business owners help you become competition for their business.
lol , i have like 500 servers for sale ... so you are welcome .
You are so wrong he can get 4 servers here (no need for newest gen servers, leave those to cloud)
We still have snow here in Ohio, I didn't realize its already summer.
Huh?
Summer hosts
Ohhhhh xD
Come to Southern California it’s 85F here today.
Ah, going after the under-served My Little Pony Fandom Site market.
now serious , do you have any ideea of this world ?
You don't really need that amount of money, but more experience and practice.
Start with something small; try to offer free for usage 1 rented by your dedicated server.
Focus on just one slice of your dedicated server at one time. Do not mix and mess your learning curve with the horizontal grown of products.
For example:
1. purchase https://www.ovhcloud.com/en/bare-metal/game/prices/
2. purchase and install https://www.whmcs.com/pricing/
3. and this one: https://docs.whmcs.com/Virtualizor
4. and this one: https://virtualizor.com/pricing
5. also, you need: https://docs.whmcs.com/Mailchimp
6. and this one: https://mailchimp.com/pricing/
7. Then you will need a website. Purchase whmcs and landing page bundle (extra 50-100usd)
8. Start share info about your hosting on the game communities.
9. Start to grow.
10. On first real problem from the market - close your business, lose all of your money and time that you spent. And get out of the business.
Listen, the hosting industry is not a simple thing, even if many solutions already mentioned above. Your customers will be very different, and with different requirements. If you don't have real-life experience in the hosting industry, you can't start to do anything successfully. A lot of people here spending their big part of their life on this work. They know tons of nuances and small deep details.
Your initial payment for offering something that is required by the market right now:
1600 USD just for server purchase for 1 year.
+
85 USD for WHMCS + 225 USD for the first year.
+
95 USD for virtualizor annually.
+
around 100 USD for mail solutions (for a transaction, marketing emails for your growing audience)
+
landing and website onetime payment around 100 USD.
+
hosting of your website around 100 USD / annually.
Summary: 1600 + 85 + 95 + 100 + 100 + 100 = 2080 just for starting "summerhost business".
2080 / ~10 = ~200-220 USD per month your server should generate for returning your investments this year.
You have 64GB ram, + cool CPU.
2GB plans + 1 Core + 15NVMe ~ 30 customers on the node.
210 / 30 = minimum 7 USD per month for the VPS for 30 at the same time users of your services just for being in plus.
Plus hidden fees and unexpected fees.
Are you sure you want all of that?
Sorry, this is very rough and not really correct. A lot of costs possible to minimize and optimize, but this is just an illustration that this is not a "super nice and profitable business," if you got somehow 10 USD free in your wallet, better for you to stick to a business where you're great. Let professionals in the LowEnd market do their job what they know how to do and balance between pricings, and performance.
It's summer in Southern Hemisphere.
I've been operating a summer host for much cheaper than this, because I coded all the components so that I cut out software licensing fees.

It's always summer somewhere...
DO NOT. Get some education first. McDonalds looks more promising.
Fast forward two weeks...
Buy Covid-19 Vaccine and distribute within your family and then to the poor.
