Coz it's old and riddled with holes like swiss cheese?
Outdated.
because ryzen
Yes. I have one too. Did you grab one? SSD age was way too old at least 5 years, and worn out level is 60%.
Where did you see that? I can't find any trace of it on LET Black Friday offers.
I like my uptime down low, down low, down low
I like my servers all hacked, all hacked, all hacked...
It was available on the page following page. https://www.psychz.net/dashboard/client/web/order/special-dedicated-servers
I personally ordered it, though I configured it with an extra 256GB SSD for $5 more.

Ryzen is in the market now. Offering at least 2x performance for the same price so why go for an outdated hardware.
Same price you say? Are you nuts...? This is dedicated server we are talking. A full E3 of any kind fully dedicated will smoke any half assed vCore shit Ryzen you can buy for 24/mo on US on a decent datacenter.
By the way stop saying "Ryzen", is not a server CPU and it hasn't changed the E3 prices. The budget price comes from this specific 1230v2 being ~8 years old. There are newer Xeon CPU's arriving at the market which naturally pushes the prices down of older hardware.
Fucking get triggered with the Desktop CPU Ryzen fan kids. Let's talk Server CPU AMD EPYC. Now we are talking big leagues, E N T E R P R I S E /Server Grade.
Well for me personally, I don't care whether it is server or desktop one, as long as it give me moar GB4/5 score..
Score 950-up for GB5 single core for recent CPU is one I will look at.. and score 550-650 GB5 single core for old CPU is within acceptable range.
Not gonna lie. This actually good
Good luck with your uptime and data integrity
I have a few ax-41 from Hetzner and no issues with uptime or data integrity.. switched over from xeons a few months back.
I love your signature
There are already 2 generations of Intel Xeon E above the most recent Intel Xeon E3v6 CPU from that series.
Which Xeon was it? Are you satisfied? Better performance now?
That's Intel way of competing in the market..
They're cheap because they're quite old and providers can buy them cheap second-hand (can sometimes find them for $50 on eBay), or reuse components from decommissioned servers. Some of these CPUs are close to 10 years old now.
It's a classic IRC quote

That's one good written signature
I found this gold on this site
Bash is a good source for signatures lol
Many providers purchased thousands of these e3 units years ago and they've long since been paid off. So prices are coming way down in the retail market.
At this point it's just paying for the rack space to get new customers in the door and have them upgrade to better performing servers.
Is it only me who saw price increase the last few months on E3 servers?
