Email Server
Hey guys,
Looking for a mail server setup, VPS or something where we can have our own incoming/outgoing mail server as well as have really good deliverability (preferably MailChannels) and room for quite a few emails.
Just wondering if there are any recommended providers? I've seen MailCheap, are there any others please?
Thanks!

There's this guy with a silly name as well, @jar jar binks.
Either him or MailCheap is a decent choice if you only need mail.
Does MX Route offer custom mail servers (so we can use our own incoming/outgoing mail server)?
Good question!
I'm sure @jar jar binks will he here soon..
Not specifically. I mean a few customers relay through us because one only need support SMTP for it to be possible, but it's not a marketed feature.
I bought a mxroute...but I can't use it yet
Thank you, I'll try it right away
Using MXroute as relay could be tricky: if "From" field differs from the authenticating account, server declines outgoing email. I discovered this when I'm coding with NodeMailer.
To use MXroute as relay, you would have to create each account on both your own mail server and MXroute, and then authenticate with the correct account. It's more complicated than other (more expensive) relay services.
If you want a free relay for non-commercial use, try SparkPost. You authenticate with an API key and can send email from any address within your domain.
I've been relaying outbound mail via mxroute for a couple of years with 10 domains that I send mail from for personal use only. I still do the inbound myself but his service is so good for outbound delivery that it is no longer worth my time to try and keep up with it. I only use one account, but I do have all the domains listed in that account.
If you wanted to "relay" inbound mail to your own mail server from mxroute you could just use fetchmail.
It actually doesn't. If the From is an address I've specifically blocked from sending or if it's from an invalid domain (aka root@localhost) then it does. Sounds like you may want to reach out and troubleshoot what you're seeing.
Are you planning to host it on Linux or Windows platform? hMailServer is a good option for Windows platform.
Try out Dynu's SMTP relay service.
