Is this a VT server?

Hello,

Can you please tell me if this server accepts virtualization?

Linux sd-54639 2.6.32-358.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Feb 22 00:31:26 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Thanks in advance

You'll need to show us the output of cat /proc/cpuinfo

grep --color vmx /proc/cpuinfo - verify Intel VT CPU Virtualization

grep --color svm /proc/cpuinfo - verify AMD V CPU Virtualization

  • Thank you @mcmyhost

i just did this command and it is VT

    grep --color '(vmx|svm)' /proc/cpuinfo

  • thank you @ATHK

  • and i can already tell this is from online.net :P..
you can check the product details on their website it will tell you...

  • yes it is clear from the"sd-***"

i'm new with them do you have any review about? ;)

  • i have currently got 32 servers through them 8 been personal ones at the moment. speeds are half good... with the lack of IP's though wouldn't bother selling VPS' from them at all..

  • i'm not yet familiar with their console

i added some IPs but dont know how to do with "Adresse mac virtuelle"

je veux créer 4 vps avec OpenVZ sur mon serveur

i want to create 4 vpses with OpenVZ in the server

c'est obligatoire cette adresses pour la virtualisation?

    is it obligatory for virtualization?

if yes, i see just buttons to add adresse for xen, kvm or wmware what is the one i have to choose for OpenVZ?

    thank you in advance

  • Hope your help, perhaps @Joodle or another nice man :'(

Also may need to add the -E switch to grep for this to work properly.

I don't think you need a virtual mac for ovz, just add the ip to the container and it should "just work" :)

  • thank you @DigitalDuke

@Joodle i wait for your opinion too, that's why i mentionned you

    thanks in advance

    Oh well...

The answer to your question is already given here though lol

  • thanks

what do i have to write for reverses?

  • What's wrong with providers that don't list the type of virtualization that they're using?

You can just leave them as they are, or set them to the hostname for the server/container they're assigned to (provided you have A records for your domain pointing to those ips).
